Not many here giving us a chance,I know it’s over there but their form is not that good.
Crows supporters certainly do.

Media types generally don’t look closer than the last time we played each other & a loose vibe from recent games this season.

Anyone who thinks this isn’t 50/50 isn’t looking closely enough.

Gets it together soon? Calm down! It's 1/4 of the way through his 2nd season.
Yep, Roo's said generally expectations are too high years 1-3. Let them acclimatise and develop the behaviours and tank to succeed. Yet after yr 3 if they haven't shown significant progress and behaviour change then they prob won't. (Relating to kids with the requisite ability to succeed at the level) which Moir seems to have

I'm never confident when we play Adelaide. We do seem to struggle against sides that can transition the ball quickly from half back, which they've traditionally been able to do against us.

If we can make it more of a contested ball game, that'll go a LONG way to us winning.

Their scoring has fallen off a cliff...

2 things have happened imo.

They've adjusted their approach ball in hand in order to protect their backline. Their backline isn't weak, but the way they were going forward so aggressively it left their backline exposed on the rebound. As can be seen in most scorelines, they're getting a good score but so are the opposition. Even Essendon managed to get 100 points, despite losing by 60, which is crazy. They're much more controlled now ball in hand which has helped their backline, but has killed their offense. They're still working on getting that balance right.

Secondly, I think a couple of nicks to their midfield has shown how shallow the depth is there. Their starting mid was very good, inside and outside. Now with an injury or 2 they just have no replacements and now they're getting beaten up. Jordan Dawson isn't an inside mid by any stretch but he's now being asked to play that role. It's not his game, he's a first receiver/outside type. Having said that I expect him to play a role on Cripps this week so his role won't be quite the same as it has been, we'll see how they adapt to that. I think they'll have them line up at stoppage and Dawson will try to run off Crippa and play as a receiver - which imo is his best role just about.

People on here worried about their tall forwards, I think they should be more worried about ours
They have 3 talls and we have 2 up forward. They also have a more smalls (including mid/forwards) that hit the scoreboard regularly. My worry is that with 2 talls to worry about, they will have a greater ability to double team. For us, they'll try to drag Weitering away from the hotspot, leaving Haynes and Gov to contest. If Haynes backs up his form from last week then I'm confident he'll do well. McGovern on the other hand is a 1v1 liability.

They've lost Murray and Hinge.

And if they feel we may replace JSOS with a utility like Cowan they may determine it's actually an opportunity for them to give one of Thilthorpe or Fogarty an extra week off.

They have 1 1/2 talls currently, one of which is Tex who can’t defend.

Thilthorp has 8 working fingers.

Fogarty unlikely.

They’ll need to beat us with pace through the middle & on rebound as they can’t compete in the contest.

So likely Rankin attends more CBAs than normal - less forward time. They also need to cover Crouch-The-Crab being out.

Their scoring has disappeared the last 2 weeks - not sure how that improves unless our very solid defensive work dissolves.

PS Murray out for them is huge. Their Weitering equivalent. Not sure how they cover Charlie & H?

I'd say that we will bring Young in for this exact reason (provided Adelaide play their 3 bigs) & attempt to play Haynes intercepting & on a smaller player.

See Borlase is a test for them - he's a good natural matchup for Curnow, similar Athletically and iirc he's done the job on Curnow a couple of times. Don't think he's beaten him, but Curnow also hasn't dominated so it's a good matchup

That's a shame. He gets a lot of ball and does very little with it against us.
He’s very good though at negating one of our strengths, I’m happy he’s out as none of the rest of them have really great inside to out extractor skillsets

No doubt, it mostly doesn’t RB
Just would like to see us develop a substainable system that provides us with a competitive chance each week, no matter who we or they may be missing…
We’ve been more than a competitive chance in every game this year if that’s the benchmark

Ten of the AFL tipping experts have picked Adelaide to win against us. I don't think that they've taken into account the effect that losing Buzz is going to have on us. We're going win this for him.

Rankine , Dawson and Keays are the ones that will kill us and their transition … stop that we win but I’m not too confident to be honest of a big win blues by 27
