The first 15 secs is from the forum in Ballarat. I was there, Bevo and Bont tried to keep their expressions neutral while Bains responded to a scripted question (there were no questions from the floor), but Bevo gave his feelings away for just a split second. 😉

This is pretty good material.

Yep, and that is why I said it was a good win.

Sydney's defensive structures have been looking after bit better lately (quite good on friday night though) and we were still able to get through and win. The size of the win shouldn't have been the focus, it was now it was achieved.

Huh?

Can we stop with the defeatist shit already

They've beaten Richmond and Port and suddenly everyone is running scared

Jesus

Thumped every team below us but suddenly we are worried about Sydney

"Classic shit the bed dogs game" seems pretty defeatist to me

Obviously good players but it's not just the individual players. They have stunk system wise under Cox

I guess it is nice for us that The Bont, Sam and Red have been rated 1, 3 and 4 in the AFL in the Herlad Sun. For me only Red should be top 5 and I would have number 2 on performances this season.

As much as I love The Bont he has missed the first 5 and has been heavily tagged in a number of others diminishing his impact, he has had 2 blinders against the saints and the tigers. Sam has been excellent in most games he has played but because of injury it is hard to see why he is number 3.

Bevo seemed surprised on 360 that The Bont and Sam were rated so highly.

Just watched. I have always loved Bevo’s combative protective style. I wondered whether he over did it with Cain in Geelong recently? After watching this (I don’t watch the crap tv shows he’s been potting Bevo on) I can fully understand why Bevo is so angry with that pissant peanut Kornes. What a turd this bloke is. No wonder he was trying to protect Adz, especially right after Tom Boyd was run out of the game. But Kornes was into Bevo anyway before that for some strange reason? Maybe it’s the snobbery to the western suburbs some of us were discussing on another thread? This is a fantastic must watch for any footy fan, or anyone interested in media culture 2020’s.

Tom Elliott on 3AW commenting on how wearing the clash jumper last night didn't make sense and also the low crowd number of 25,009.

I agree on the clash jumpers, can't see why we need them at all.and always prefer to see us in our traditional colours.

North wore their original jumper from 100 years ago. Once they wore that, there was a need for us to wear our clash jumper.

Depends how you define clash. Basic thing is whether viewers and in particular players would have a problem telling the difference between the two . I don’t have a problem with it and I don’t know how many people would .

I can guarantee that if the two clubs ran out in the kits I posted, even with the Dogs in white shorts, there would be absolute uproar. It's a clash by any definition.

It would be significantly worse than even this, which also created a lot of attention at the time (and rightly so):

So would you have trouble telling the difference between them? Would be interesting to know how many people would.

Sorry Fossie, I can't agree on this one.

People would have been calling for blood, if the teams walked out in these 2 uniforms.

PS - North supporters don't need anything else to complain about

Would you be upset about it?

How did people and players live through the nightmare for so many decades before they decided we needed clash jumpers?
There were far fewer clashes back in the day, on account of there being less teams and less kits per club. There were a few match ups which caused problems (eg Essendon vs Richmond, North vs Collingwood plus others) but it also drew less attention given the game was not so television orientated, and much less professional. Coloured/white shorts were the solution but there was a good reason why clash jumpers came in to improve that.

Clash jumpers serve a very important purpose.

The shorts need to be chosen wisely. Geelong are very good with this, their jumper is white based so they often wear white shorts even at home to help make the whole uniform light v dark. Against North we should have traditional all blue (shorts and jumper) compared with Norths white based traditional jumper and white shorts. Both teams get to wear proper jumper! But we should also be accommodating the other way around, against Melbourne or Carlton for instance we should be in white shorts, like Geelong do, home and away, and both teams get their proper jumpers and the contrast is a very good matchup. Leave home game shorts ego’s out of it.

Yep. That's a clear free kick to ... ummm ... the player in blue.

They went to the game.

No TV coverage. Or if there was it was in B&W on a tiny screen. So everything was a clash and you had to listen to Lou Richards or Jack Dyer to work out who was who. Yes, they were indeed nightmarish tough times.
