Oppo Camp Non Geelong football (AFL) discussion 2025, Part 2

I've got something I'm my head about this, going back 2015 when we really never got our momentum going & ultimately missed finals - Michael Luxford made his debut against Essendon at Marvel and around that time I think we were getting that skint trying to field the VFL team in terms availability with top up options, and had to get permission for one or two guys to travel down from like the Murray Bushrangers

I think it was when Knights was VFL coach, they were going through the country football leagues and ringing up clubs that had the bye looking for top up players for the week.

Actually feel them, not so much the club itself, but the players. Tough year.

On a lighter note for us, we could challenge 186 in a few weeks if we're serious and up for it.

We'll probably put the que in the rack early, and polish them off by 40 though.

Not sure about that

When we played them at the MCG we were leading by only 35pts at halftime before running out 95pt winners which is currently the biggest winning margin this year

With the Essendon match being our final home match for the season, with the right weather conditions it could be a thumping win - we'll likely have some guys playing to hold their spot ahead of finals and really wanting to impress

I thought the same with the WC game last year and saying goodbye to Hawk, but I reckon injury preservation will be the priority that late in the year.

Put a 60 point buffer up at halftime, and just kick it around for an hour after that. Maybe feed Jez for coleman/AA purposes too.

As Mr Meow points out, the idea that we win these games by 40 now is a bit of a fallacy, but I doubt we'll push for that extra 60-100 points if it's not needed either.

Luxford - good call.. that’s a deep shot from the past.

Had a few flash moments in the VFL but never anything more than that.
Good hands from memory with the basketball background but that was it.

Not all the Cat B free hits we've taken have worked.

GO Catters

My Hubbl is doing me a favour tonight by refusing to load up Kayo so I won't be able to watch tonight's game unless I bite the bullet and flick over to Channel 7.

Not much luck for the bombers. They’ve mostly outplayed gws so far and should be at least a couple of goals up. They’ve got a serious case of the yips.
