A huge breakout game from Sam Cumming in only his second senior SANFL appearance for North Adelaide. In a game in which his team struggled for long stretches Cumming seemed to represent their only hope of getting back into the contest. There's very little that Cumming can't do, he's a fantastic athlete with a burst of speed and ability to leap for high marks, he can win the ball at stoppage, and he has a lovely long penetrating kick. There will be increasing talk of Cumming pushing well inside the top 10 on the back of this game, and its fully deserved.

Unfortunately the second half of this game represented a major set back in the on going battle between the SANFL camera operators and the zoom button. But as they say, it's much better to lose a battle and win the war... and you may call me a dreamer, but I believe that one day the SANFL camera operators will find the zoom button.

I’d trade up for him

Absolute gun in the making

Called up to play senior SANFL for the Bulldogs Sharp turned in a super solid performance. He has the mature body to impact immediately next season at AFL level and his contested game here was as fantastic as always, winning clearances, laying tough tackles and coming out on top in a number of important contested battles around the ground. I still feel as though he's a bit more hesitant to impose himself than he is in the junior comps, let's hope he sheds himself of that with more experience at the level.

This guy is serious quality and impresses me the more I watch. The 2nd Cumming.

If Sharp is beyond our reach, I would be very happy to trade up to get this bloke.

Afternoon fellas and ladies, came here to ask a seperate question but if we get pick 2 compo for Oscar Allen I reckon SA based Duane Massey would love to pair Sharp and Cumming at WCE, they’d certainly be my picks. Credit to the SA development pathways such a fantastic and watchable squad this year.

Now to the question, have any posters heard recent news that the Crows are pretty big on drafting Cody Curtin to play with his older brother who is making a lot of clubs look like total dickheads?

No, and if they did they they would probably cool their jets a bit after his very average Nationals for WA even though he looked like a man among boys physically.

Our first pick is likely in the 20's after F/S and Academy
If we still hold it , that is not wasted on him surely?

And if he wasn't Dan's brother how much interest would he have from Adelaide supporters?

He strikes me as a kid whos dominated juniors because hes just so damn big.

Worth a punt later in the draft but nothing in the first round.
Adding some more KP depth should be on our agenda, just not with a early pick.

If Curtin does slide to the late 2nd round onwards why not take the punt.

Nowhere near as much

same can said for the younger Phillipou too
Well at least with Jevan Phillipou Adelaide supporters have had a lot more opportunities to watch him and gauge his talent. Disappointing with Jevan we didn't get to see him matched up against his peers at the Nationals through injury.

Because, on the evidence of the Champs and pretty much any game this year where he's played against guys in his own weight class, he's looked like a long shot. Would be disappointed if we let ourselves be swayed by sentiment. Besides, to your specific point about sliding to a late second - we don't have a 2025 second.

Port look to have another talented father/Son on the horizon too

Tevita Rodan (Port Adelaide father-son)

Midfielder/forward, 179cm, Calder Cannons/Aberfeldie

Having spent more tiem forward in previous matches, Rodan played a full game in the midfield and tore South Australia to shreds. The Port Adelaide father-son’s clean hands and evasiuveness on the inside coupled with his speed and ball-use away from the contest makes him very well-rounded. Rodan showed off his burst with an outstanding goal in the third term, dashing through the middle with a handball, getting it back and kicking it through on the bounce from 50m. He racked up 18 disposals in the first half alone and finished with a game-high 30 disposals, six clearances, six isnide 50s and a goal.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Kai Ivins

Forward/midfielder, 180cm, Norwood/Payneham Norwood

Ivins slotted SA’s first goal of the match from a set shot from the 50 and found plenty of the ball early. The high-impact midfielder-forward was great in traffic, hitting centre clearances at speed on a couple of occasions and bursting away. It wasn’t as emphatic as his performance on Tuesday but he was certainly in his side’s best few players

Laurence Andriani

Midfielder, 170cm, West Adelaide/SMOSH West Lakes

Andriani got his hands dirty yet again at the source. His best play came in the second quarter when he caught a Vic Metro player holding the ball with a strong tackle and then hit Joshua Jarrad lace out on the lead. Andriani tallied 25 disposals, six marks, five inside 50s, four clearances and four tackles.

Archie Simpson

181cm, North Adelaide/Proprietary Risdon

When Simpson puts the jets on, there is no catching him. The lightning quick Croweater provided a late highlight for his side as he burst through the 50 with several bounces for a goal — his second for the match after an earlier set shot. He took off again in the final term after cutting off a handball at halfback. Had much more impact than his 14 touches suggest.

Taj Garrett

Midfielder, 182cm, Sturt/Imperial

Garrett has an uncanny knack of finding the footy, racking up 25 disposals — 18 of those kicks. He got involved on the outside with 11 marks and also won four clearances in a well-rounded midfield showing.

Joshua Jarrad

Forward, 189cm, Glenelg/Brighton

The marking forward had a third quarter purple patch where he booted three goals in the space of six minutes. The first he tapped to himself at a ruck contest and snapped through in heavy congestion and the next two came from set shots. He also clunked a strong grab in the third term in front of his opponent on the wing.

My boy Talor Byrne showing today why we should be all over him for a high pressure small forward that hits the scoreboard. Some of his high octane pressure acts and smothers leading to scores for VC along with his goal and a set shot poster from outside 50

1/4 time
VC 4.4 28
VM 2.2 14

1/2 time

VC the more dominant but wasteful around goal, could easily have had 10 goals with the opportunities they've left begging with poor conversion

VC 6.7 43
VM 3.6 24

For VC Willem Duursma outstanding, Riley Onley,Harry Dean, Josh Lindsay and Jasper Russell doing well

For VM Max Kongodianiss, Cooper Duff-Tytler, Jack Dalton, Ollie Greeves and Kye Fincher going OK.

No Duursma, Greeves or Lindsay?

I feel like SA talents always drift later in the draft.
Duursma clearly best on to half time today, Greeves just alright though Riley Onley the other big bodied mid had the better of him up to half time, Lindsay is a beautiful kick and a great distributor but don't think he adds enough run to go that high.
