Some interesting examples there.I think that our recent development (last few years) has been generally really good. But you can only do so much for players who aren't fast enough, aren't big enough, can't jump, don't want to work hard or are always getting injured. So nobody will have a 100% hit rate.
Xerri, Curtis, Archer, Comben, Sheezel, Hardeman, Harvey, McKercher, Stephens, Pink, Powell ... are all looking like good development stories.
It seems like Goad has all of the tools and his attitude is good so I'm pretty confident that if he stays fit then he'll be a good AFL player.
Sheezel's development between years 1 & 2 was pretty clear. Some interesting examples there.
McKercher is a high pick and performance wise the same question marks still exist. His disposal stands out as being poor.
How much has Powell improved? It's definitely a slightly upward curve but I'd argue if anything his impact has decreased slightly this season. In terms of quality of disposals I'd argue the last two seasons were better than this one.
Pink? He had a couple of games in defense last season and Clarkson panicked and turfed him for our other crap defenders.
We've found a role for Stephens.
Sheezel? He was ready to go from Game 1 and his best football was probably in season 1.
So does Hamish FreeCcj says hi
That's crazy talk JGreezy.I think that our recent development (last few years) has been generally really good. But you can only do so much for players who aren't fast enough, aren't big enough, can't jump, don't want to work hard or are always getting injured. So nobody will have a 100% hit rate.

Curtis a 'possible' tick? That's nuts. That's crazy talk JGreezy.
Xerri is a definite tick. Curtis is a possible tick. The rest you've listed - you're off ya 3KZ.
Great post mate. I cannot for the life of me figure out how our very own supporters can't see the improvement in all the players you have mentioned and some that you didn't mention.Curtis a 'possible' tick? That's nuts.
This is what I'm talking about. Unless a player is AA and has turned into the best player at their position they are considered as bad around here.
Curtis has become top 5 in the comp for his position.
Archer and Pink becoming regular AFL players is development, from where they started. It can be development without them becoming AAs.
Well Phillips was our barometerMcKercher is a top 3 pick ffs. What were you expecting from him?
and edwards.So does Hamish Free
It's not so much the individual improvement they're denying, it's the fact that players can improve and it barely moves the needle at allGreat post mate. I cannot for the life of me figure out how our very own supporters can't see the improvement in all the players you have mentioned and some that you didn't mention.
He had 13 3 and 28?Goad with 16 disposals, 9 tackles and 30 hitouts (most on ground).
Must've mixed it up.He had 13 3 and 28?
