If he's claiming his innocence to them, I can understand their wanting to believe and back him. You never want to think your child could do something like this.

Parents often have blind spots about their children. They are not the first and won’t be the last to prefer to believe a victim is lying and their precious child is being victimised in the face of all evidence. Their son has probably been spoiled and indulged and always known he can count on unquestioning parental support. The parents are likely to make it worse piling more pain on the victim who gets lost behind the Silvagni fame. Horrible.
