I too have the Clay Hall, Dom Sheed, Bunga Hurn hairline and to Clay I say.... Get shaving early son. Let it go

When mine first started to go and I was in full denial and had that savage triangle shaped widow's peak looking shit up front I was pissed off for the barber giving me a "Shannon Hurn" 👀

FYI ... make up your own minds ...

16 Rising Star nominations so far.

To Vic players: 11; non-Vic 5

Representing 11 Vic teams and four non-Vic
(Ess 3, Melb 2, plus 6 at one each; WCE 2, Adel 1, Bris 1, Freo 1)

Awarded for matches played in Vic 12; non-Vic 4
(MCG 8 & Marvel 4; Adel x2, Syd & Perth 1)

Another one for the book 'Advantages of being a Victorian AFL team'? Or simply yet another 'statistical anomaly'?

I mean could be skewed by vic teams (as a collective) being more shit on average than non-vic teams (as a collective) this year and therefore more likely to blood youngsters - only Swans, GWS & Port are bottom 8 right now, all went deep into finals last year & have older lists.

That said rising star noms are often influenced by media hype, and the media bubble is vic biased-as-****.

Would be curious to see that ratio over the years

My moment was when I happened to see myself on a security camera feed and saw the bald spot developing at the back of my head

When our last premierships were 2006 and 2018 I'm surprised we all aren't bald heart attack victims!
I went to the 94GF and loved every second of it knowing mid 3rd qtr we had it. The last qtr was just party time 8 goals to 1

But I was 14 so just got on the bus to come home.

Think I'd be messy now lol

This guy needs some mentioning. Developing very well as a mid IMO given how young he is.
Doing a very good job at the moment, playing within his limits and just getting game time. His kicking is better than expected, handball needs a bit of work cos that's going be his 1 wood going forward.

For mine, he's not a complete bust - we have something to work with and mould going forward - the typical response at this stage of the year, is another preseason will benefit him. Hopefully there will be more emphasis on skills.

Will be a great 3/4th banana if he puts it all together.

Very solid mid rotation.

Always seems to be around the contest scrapping for the ball.
Not scared to get a little dirty doing it either.
averaging about 15 disposals and 2 tackles though so could lift those numbers a little but that will come with more exposure. Need this type of player in the team so will definitely be a regular from here on in you would think if he lifts to 20 disposals and 4-6 tackles a game.

Like other young players Hall's a bit 'deer in the headlights' at times but that's to be expected. As he gets more used to the tempo and gets stronger/fitter/more confident he should become a 'good average' player - the type of player that all teams need. :whitecheck:

Watching him in person for the first time has given me a good perspective of his shortcomings.

One of the knocks pre-draft was that he wasn't big and strong enough to break tackles and just accepted them. I can see that, but granted that's only two years in the gym. His next step is to put on a bit more size and strength to be more effective in breaking out of the tackle.

The other thing I would love to see him do is improve his hands. He's probably giving up 4-5 possessions with fumbles / mishandling a quick ball. The pleasing thing is he's in the right place, just needs to work on his touch to be able to one grab and distribute.

Think he's coming on just fine. Has to suffer the wing/half forward rotation a bit too much, but definately needs more stoppage exposure.

Yeah, just needs to focus on securing the ground ball first, and then deciding what to do with it. Like a lot of young player's, the quick and chaotic scramble on the deck can take some getting used to

I'll be the first person to say late last year even in person watching the games I thought he would be moved on ASAP and not get too many more games. Has very pleasantly surprised me this season and if his trajectory continues he'll be a great contributor off the int in our next flag :)

Have liked his development, if he sticks with Reubs he will be fine. This preseason i was working at WAIS and you can see McGillivray oval from inside the gym. Would see Hall putting in running sessions trying to keep up with Ginbey a couple of times a week. Reubs trains bloody hard!!! Impressive runner. The boys were in the gym a few weeks ago actually, just to change it up with a fresh environment, can confirm Ginbey is a beast in the weight room!!
