Motty best on.

Hugh and dunks close behind.

Andrews and Rayner excellent (shoutout danster).

Ashcrofts, Zorko, Fletcher and fort also wonderful.

Marshall and gallop bright futures. Some of gallops contests were magnificent.

Just home from the game
The crowd atmosphere at The Gabba was great tonight.
Thought we played much better but in the end bad kicking is a leveler score wise.
We deserved the win and so glad we did to celebrate Zorko and Cameron milestone

Most posters covered who played well. I will add Fort to the list he battled hard and contested all night.
Fort had 40 hit outs with 11 to advantage. Hawks combined rucks were 39 hit outs with 7 to advantage.

Such an important win with our injuries and a few battered players out there tonight that need a short break.
The inexperienced Marshall and Reville again held up well in a pressure game.
Gallop showed way more than his first game earlier in the year and should play in the first final.
Coaches moved Ah-Chee to the wing and that also helped that center line. Just a little touch more experience helped.

A big plus for me tonight was Starcevich's game.
He has improved each game but tonight was the first time he attacked everything and put himself in awkward positions.
He is back now with full confidence.

Well done boys you showed up with intent early and fought it out to the end against a good team.

Spent 11 years in Brisbane. Just moved back to Wimmera and Bezza country late last year

Sponsored Bez, Starc, Bails, Cam and Sam Marshall before moving back to the bush. Those jumpers are at Ollie's Cafe in Bulimba with the owners who co-sponsored with me.

LIOOOOOOONNNNNNS!

We in same area

Honestly could not have finished in a better spot. Geelong hasn't played a decent team in months, and we get to take them on at the G, after a brutal end to the HA season. They won't know what hit them.
…and would rather another final at the MCG where the GF will be played, than having to schlep to Adelaide Oval or Engie Stadium!

the Amon call - with the pressure building I think it was one of those ones where he wanted it to go to a team mate to either fumble it over the line or was going to maybe going to get tackled over the line. So imo he didn’t want it to stay in, issue was he was the one to do it and it just looked casual.
Probably stiff. But they refused to pay htb on Meek and that diabolical call on Starcevic.
A straight handball over the line without any body contact has to be paid as intentional. If they let that one go then it’s open season for “accidental” handballs over the boundary. Any kind of mis-queued kick that rolls over the boundary is paid - poor skill or not.

First up, the umpiring tonight was DISGRACEFUL! They gave so much latitude to Hawks players who were tackled and incorrectly disposed of the ball. Then Jasper Fletcher gets pinged for holding the ball when he is tackled a nano-second after taking possession. Umpires appeared to be doing their level best to gift the game to Hawthorn.
The umpiring was bloody awful going both ways tonight.
The front on contact against Starce was about the worst. The non-paid front on contact for Morris (I think) doubled down.

I submit to you Exhibit B for the case that the Brisbane Lions play football like a gifted but dysregulated young adult with ADHD. The 'normal' way for getting the task done wasn't quite within our grasp today, and we forgot that we didn't have breakfast many of our best players today, but we still kept grinding our way and found an odd looking but in the end effective way to get the thing finished. But we had to work like three times harder than anyone else would to make it work, but you know what it got the flipping job done alright.

🥲
We are a bit on the spectrum 🤣

The behinds this year have added decades to our physical ages.

Fortunately didn't cost us a win tonight but they are so frustrating.
Hopefully a bit of a wake up and focus on accuracy going into the finals. We had a couple of bad ones in season (Adelaide!!) but bounced back in following weeks if i’m not mistaken.

We were better almost all night except for kicking.

Also, on the TV the crowd was incredibly flat through the 3rd and early 4th. Hopefully the crowd gets some training in over the bye before our next Gabba game.

Many Hawks fans in their autopsy thread are livid with that call in particular, with many claiming the umpiring was significantly favouring us all game.

Thought we really saw the difference not having Hipwood out there has on our forward line. Put a lot of pressure on Morris. He competed well, but needed that true second foil to take one of the two guys on him at any given time.

On last year's structure that would be correct but as the Suns play Wednesday and likely have to go to WA I'm sure the AFL will give them an extra day of rest seeing they'll have to fly to Perth to play the Dockers
I’m sure at this stage the Suns can manufacture the result they need to play either GWS or Freo.

Josh Dunkley was great but his set shot kicking is all over the shop, he completely looses his form, stabs at it, falls back on impact, all mental for Dunks.

Was the best up and about from the crowd around us all year. Lots of all stadium wide chants. Not picked up on the telecast maybe but was lively.

And it didnt just make it over the boundary on the full. It went a few meters over on the full

If Logan Morris can draw the same scrutiny he got tonight in two weeks, one of him or Gallop will kick a bag.
Not convinced between Stewart and O'Sullivan they have the chops to lock down on both especially considering the mix between the two.
Henry will play on one of them

Did he deliberately handball it out of bounds? Probably not.

Was there sufficient intent to keep the ball in? Absolutely not.

Based off the letter of the law, the right call was made.

It doesn't help that both covering networks highlighted it several times. They must be stoked by the clicks they will generate.

So in the wash up, the draw against North was as good as a win.

Thank you Jack Payne.

That incredible spoil in the dying seconds may be the difference between a genuine shot at another Flag and just making up the numbers in the lower reaches of the Eight.

If my maths are correct, we finish sixth instead of third if we don't salvage that draw against North
