800kpa for JSOS. SOS trying to recruit his own kid on big bucks.

It’s like a sickness for SOS. Trying to poach spuds on big money out of his former employer.

Well they did say they don't care who they offend, but they didn't mention it would also be a comedy.

He's just trying to ensure JSOS has a proper income, so Jack finally feels confident to move out of the family spare bedroom. Jack is 27 years old for goodness sakes. Steve and Jo want to finally be able to get a bit of sexy time on the dining room table if they choose to, without the risk of Jack walking in on them asking if Jo has washed his footy gear yet.

if starcevich cared about this club as much as rhys mathieson he would sign for 200k a year and get on with it

I don’t think current players are all about the team. A small minority are, but I think most only have self interest at heart. Our three-peat squad all sacrificed money but this group I don’t think is about it. Only takes one, which appears to be Starcevich and now others will follow. Seems one premiership is enough for most players these days and if they don’t back it up the following year start thinking me me me.

I think the most surprising thing is that it is Starcevich ready to be the selfish one and likely doesn’t rate being part of a dynasty because he’ll obviously be destitute if he doesn’t leave.
I completely agree. That's why I still work at Red Rooster after decades - I'm sacrificing money to keep the team together... As I say to Dan when he askes when his next raise is, it's all about loyalty and not being selfish!

From being Carlton’d or the drugs?
given the clubs hes been at you can't blame him for the issues hes facing.

hasnt really shown it at afl level but he looked so good as a junior. i think theres something there - i could see him auditioning for ah chee's spot on our list as a bargain pickup.

I just don’t know whether we would bother bringing in a project like that who could be a distraction, given the talent we have and have coming. And there’ll probably be a Melbourne club closer to his support networks who are interested.

i guess my position is you can never have too much talent on a list, if we think hes manageable id like to think we would make enquiries. geelong kind of did it with stengle. i dont think hollands is a stengle level talent but sometimes all it takes is a kick up the ass and a change of scenery to see these guys flourish (it also helps if like stengle you just cover up the bad behaviour....)

I'll give you one guess where he'll end up.

The blokes been done for cocaine at two clubs.

That’s a hard NO from me.

It feels like they just delisted guys like Fantasia and Cincotta to bring in a bloke who is just as poor if not worse.

It's starting to look more n more like an inside job on Voss since last year.

So, the guy who played 2 games this year for the team that only won a single game? Oh, Carlton, honey...

Oh, I didn't realise it was local footy for the three-peat team which I was relating to back in the early 2000's.

Could've fooled me.

I know you’re nervous as we wait for our first final - I am too - but you’ve gotta pull yourself together McIvor. Your posts have sounded deranged.

I was referencing dynasty teams sticking together and sacrificing 1-25% of ones salary for the greater good of success and in particular when someone posted how much would you put on another flag (I believe someone said $100-$200K) like the three-peat team did for sustained success.

The three-peat team put personal financial gain aside; why is this current team or generation of player any different?

Seriously, explain that to me how Starc is any different to that core group in three-peat teams that DID sacrifice personal financial gain (there were heaps of examples of players being offered way overs to leave Brisbane to join other clubs from Copeland, to Black, to Johnson, Brown and you could just about list all of them and none of them did) to ensure the group stuck fat together and none of them were selfish?

Saying Starc wouldn't be selfish by putting himself ahead of the team, unlike the players in the early naughties is pretty rich no?
The difference is money is much bigger now to what it was back then, the importance and awareness around money is also much more relevant now to what it was back then. Even more so in Starce’s case with his history of head knocks.

The only one being selfish in this whole scenario is you

Man I really enjoy your posting but I think this one misses.

In what world would an average Joe or Jill Bloggs turn down a massive (possibly doubling salary) pay rise doing essentially the same role?

How would you react if your son or daughter came to you for advice on career if they are juggling what Starc and Ah Chee are going through at the moment? I’d be gobsmacked if you told them they are essentially disloyal and selfish that they should stay at the company offering them much less for the same output.

Also, how do you feel about blokes coming to the Lions? I’d guess you think they aren’t great people for leaving their club?

Hmmm did any lions premiership players leave at the end of 2002......

Cant think of anyone who HEADed home and LANDed at Fremantle
