If we could shake Erasmus lose from Freo I'd be happy. He's out of contract. So if ever we could convince someone to go the PSD it would be now. Spice up the rivalry even further with the Purples.

He seems to be finding his groove and looks ready to make a leap.

Now is the chance to spice up trade week. Get to work WCE and get Chad Warner this trade period.

Pillars-
Pick 1 (WCE)
Curnow
Warner

Get to work. We have a bunch of second rounderd to play with. The great chad warner was rather friendly with Harley after swans game.

Wowee seems like swans fans aren't exactly pushing against Warner leaving
I noticed that at the game too. Warner was giving out a lot of niggle and carry on to the Eagles players, but with a big smile on his face like you do when you're playing your mates. I figure he'll be home at some point, but most likely in 2 years.

GCS in the market for a small forward. Real shame if Liam won’t entertain a move there, could have been a straight swap for Davies.

Maybe we give him a choice: stay with us on his one year contract or go to GCS on whatever they're offering. I'd much rather be playing with that list than St Kilda's spare parts, cobbled together and led by a sociopath (Lyon).

Sharp #1

Durrsma #2

Trade down 11+19 to potentially get back into the top 8-10 another of get Cumming/Lindsay/Schubert/Farrow/Fred

Cody Curts at 29 (likely gets pushed back to 35+ but he'll still be on the board)

NGA's for the rest.
I would be very happy with the draft if that eventuated.

We really should stop drafting on go home factor.
Take the best talent available, there was plenty of smoke about go home factor with Murphy Reid and freo have gotten him to decide.
There's plenty of reasons to consider not taking Duursma, but the go home factor shouldn't be one of them.
I'd be very happy with Duursma/Sharp as our first two picks personally.

Get 20 every week? Only managed the feat 3 times this year. And only just when he did.

Absolute crab
He played hff and not his midfield role which he is only suited to at any level of footy.

9% cba average. His season high he had 30% and had 20d and 1g.

Not a world beater but we don’t need them to be atm, need players who can plug and play in that role. Will come cheap (if not free)

As I had him all year I played attention to when he was sub or subbed off (which was almost every game). His scoring when he was subbed on was poor. His scoring when he started the match was poor. He was not the great white saviour Eagles fans built him up to be pre draft last year and would have made no difference to our performances this year. Will probably develop fine but was not the ready made disposal magnet I was promised.

Sure it might be because he played HFF for Adelaide but I have so many regrets.
Makes me feel better about Gross' struggles.

Would rather Ainsworth than Curtin

Matt crouch, blake acres, Steele sidebottom, mitch Duncan, Jack steele, Jack viney, Dion prestia, dylan shiel, ollie wines, Jack macrae, tom liberatore, Luke Parker, David swallow, tom mitchell, adam treloar, Stephen coniglio, Taylor Adams - that's nearly 20 just off the top of my head
A pretty solid chunk of those would come in and be our best mid

.... was not the great white saviour ....
Can people stop using phrases like "great white hope"/"great white saviour" etc.

In this context, "great white hope" has a very racist history (out of white people who wanted to see a white man who could beat a black man at boxing at the turn of the 20th century). While I'm sure people aren't intending this, given the phrase's origins, we should really be avoiding it.

(*explicitly not having a go at the above poster - it's just an example of it being casually used)

It was deliberate and I was riffing off the white savior movie trope (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_savior_narrative_in_film), but yeah...it's really racist and I don't mind that being reinforced here.

Yeah fair enough. I still am not keen but that's a pretty good counter.
