Discussion Grand Final Matchups 2025 - What will your team wear?

This jumper matchup even with Brisbane in white shorts on a sunny afternoon doesn't look fantastic. Would like to see this in HD or 4K with modern cameras.

It's still a conundrum if the top team loses and then still goes through. Collingwood would play every card to avoid wearing their clash.
Based on what? Obviously every club would prefer to wear their home jumper in a GF (barring some circumstances like West Coast wanting the wings over the tripanel), but there’s nothing about the present day Collingwood attitude that suggests they won’t ultimately accept a decision that they have to wear their clash in a GF.

Agreed here, technically I assume Collingwood have won more GF's in a white based jumper anyways.

Why? It adds more colours that the Crows wear, and you always wear your home guernsey in Grand Finals...
I personally hate Crows v Lions matchups, you've got a team in Navy, Red, Yellow, and Brisbane think it's smart to wear Red, Royal and Yellow.

Carlton would, Collingwood wouldn't. In my opinion, Collingwood have actually made the right decisions when it comes to wearing the right jumpers at the right times and I would assume they'd do the same on GF Day

Hard no on this one.

This Freo clash is so bland and creates an eyesore away against teams with white in their kit. After the 2013 grand final you’d think they’d have come up with a more inventive, stylish away kit. A green and purple away kit, something more than a straight inverse is needed
I feel Freo should have an alternate purple kit, like a lavender or softer purple.

I mean if Sydney could last year? What else would be worn is my question?
Sydney at least had a big block of white on the front, and that clash was still pretty grim.

GC would have to wear gold or pink. Pink with white shorts would probably be the best contrast but even the pink and charcoal would be better than all red vs maroon.

True, I'd say they wouldn't wear the yellow jumper ever again, at least I'd hope not, so I guess it leaves pink as the only option

So, with last night's results now in play, if the Crows still go through and play Collingwood again, are Collingwood now the "home" team? Or does the Crows finishing top still override that?
2016 Swans lost their qualifying final to the Giants. They were considered the first listed team in the grand final.

As an aside, home is a bit different in finals, as it is still considered a home game for that team, but the opposition can bring their goal signage animation, etc. (Juat a weird thing that happens)

Isn't that because Sydney were still technically ranked higher than the Bulldogs by the time the GF rolled around?

I always understood it as the highest ranked team is the home team no matter the situation of who wins in what week.

We're now down to the following combinations:

Collingwood vs Hawthorn
Geelong vs Collingwood
Brisbane vs Hawthorn
Gewlong vs Brisbane

I'll get the easy one out of the way first:

Collingwood vs Geelong

Collingwood Home/Black
Geelong Home/White

**

Collingwood vs Hawthorn

This one will go either way. The best combination for me is Hawks in Home/Brown and Collingwood Home/White. However, due to Collingwood being the higher ranked team, they may end up in full home with Hawks wearing the white shorts.

**

Brisbane vs Geelong

The best possible matchup in this scenario is Brisbane in full Maroon and Geelong in full white. Geelong are still the higher ranked team, however, meaning we could see the QF jumper and shorts combination again - Geelong Home/Navy, Brisbane Fitzroy/White

**

Brisbane vs Hawthorn

Brisbane are the higher seed in this case and will no doubt wear their full home kit, Hawks will either wear home with white or gold heritage with white.

Wouldn't we wear our home jumper anyway if we play Geelong and they elect to wear their navy shorts?

No idea 🤷🏻‍♂️

I honestly don't think it would be anything other than 2004 Prelim jumpers to be honest.

Is this inside info Mero?
Geelong always look better in white shorts imo, so I hope this is the matchup.
I'd honestly be shocked if we saw anything other than these kits.
