Our recruiting department couldn’t attract flies if it was a pile of elephant shit and our trading department wouldn’t even come back from the market with magic beans for the cow. We’d trade for the box the beans were stored in or more shit in the hopes of snagging that fly.

The exodus continues.

I agree Pants but just because I want to shag Margot Robbie doesn’t mean it’s ever going to happen. 🤷‍♂️

I hope it does happen for you and we find our balls.

Not attracting much interest seems the Eagles , hit the draft + add NGA players + Leon Kickett also to replace Liam Ryan.
Brendon Starcevich hopefully and another ....

If Carlton are trying to recruit Reidy from Freo, I would be asking about Pittonet.

Not a world beater, but better than what we have and better than a late pick we won't use.

The whole not wanting to get even younger doesn’t seem to be going well. Starcevich the only real link atm and that sounds 50/50.

Hate it but I reckon we get Kamdyn McIntosh now or Acres come back in Chesser trade.

Not sure if this guys has any real cred.... But interesting if true!
It would be a win win for both Lions and us.

Lions have midfield strength and depth. Losing Neale means they still have 2 x Ashcroft, McCluggage, Dunkley, Fletcher and Berry with Marshall, Dev, Tunstill and co developing or as depth. They also have Zorko, Bailey and Raynor able to take a turn through the midfield.

They will add Annables this draft and he is a a top 5 pick. If we want to play hardball, we could bid at pick 1. I would be happy taking him at 1.

Neale would be on roughly $1 mln and with Oscar coming, they then have enough for Draper and matching Starcevich.

They also need points for Annables as they are currently only holding 1,664 in their draft hand and that is only enough for matching a bid at pick 5 and this will get worse when Oscar and TdK FA compo pushes back their picks..

I would view this as more of a salary dump and a way for the Lions to delay any very early bid on Annables.

Would steer clear of Brandon Starcevich. Would hate to see us pay overs for a sold defender only to see him retire due to concussion protocols as he's had a few. We have plenty of medium defenders, but desperately need positions like ruck, small forwards and wingers filled.

Chesser is one we can play hard ball on and should. Walk him to the psd and pick him back up if the Blues low ball us.
I imagine the money Carlton offer is higher than we are willing to match . You can walk him to the draft but if he puts the Carlton price on his head he will get to Carlton in the pre season draft.

Ryan Daniels reporting offers are close

Just no to mcgovern or acres . Rather give games to the young guys .

Tell Carlton we need something we can use or he can take his chances in the draft

Agreed.

List team has to start getting aggressive. Minimal links to players is a little concerning.

If the non credible links to Elijah Holland have any truth to them I can see us going down that path now.

Damn, the reverse Petrevski-Seton. Disappointing to lose Chesser after finally showing something. I guess we will see what happens over the offseason. Hard to assess in isolation.

Carlton currently have picks 34, 44 and 62. I expect TdK generates band 1 and Silvani generates band 2.

Therefore with a few other FA compo picks, I expect after the FA weekend, they start trade week with point bearing picks worth around 2,305 points - picks 10, 22, 39 and 49.

Carlton are going to be busy in the trade period and likelihood is their hand changes drastically. Especially if Curnow leaves.

They are also holding access to Dean as a F/S and he is fast coming in as a top 10 prospect. Twomey, RMC and HUN all have him ranked at 8 and is seen as the best KPD in the draft. Annable, Uwland and Patterson all tipped to go before their pick meaning pick 10 actually goes back by 3 and it will be after the Dean bid. Therefore they are most likely selling pick 10. Pick 10 becomes pick 13 and would be worth 1,080 points. Dean at 8 is discounted by 10% to circa 1,300 points

I suspect they will only offer up the Sylvani compo pick likely to be around pick 22. I would be eying their R1 compo for TdK for Chesser and points. What seems likely? Probably Chesser and our R2 for pick their TdK compo. They only drop 352 points which values him at pick 34.

As Ryan Daniels has said, the Lions have offered him a 5 year deal, something you don't offer if your worried about concussion issues.

That's a decent upgrade.

Like you said, the TDK compo comes in after NGA/FS bids at 13, but our 2nd rounder will come in at about 25

I would prefer Moir though.

Assuming all the FA shenanigans go as expected...

Trade pick 2 for Essendon 5 and 7. Threaten to bid on Dean at 7 if Carlton don't give us 10 as part of the Chesser trade.

I am fully aware this is bullshit, but would be kind of funny.

Should have 5 top 20 picks by the end of the draft if we play our cards right.

Keep 1, Split 2 for an extra top 20 pick, Hawks Pick & then package up the rest of the picks to a club that needs points (Hawks 2nd & 3rd, WCE R2, & whatever we get from Ryan & Chesser)
