29 year old*

Yeah it will be, Murphy Reid, what a player but you picked the wrong horse

Take The L

Your board is telling you to
At the end of the day they are first round draft picks seperated by 8 spots maximum.

I can go through countless drafts where that gaps means very little.

It’s been fun having a genuine reason to death ride, but moreso from the point of view that your club is the dregs of society.

The picks themselves were just a bit of a lightning rod and are in most ways meaningless for the next 5 years.

It's not a great deal when you could have had a better pick in a stronger draft with one extra year of development.

Pick 14 was Murphy Reid.

Frustrated World Cup GIF
Pick 14 was Jonty Faull.

I blame the clubs before our pick for not drafting Bo Allan as predicted lol.
Then we might have taken Murphy Reid.
Still too early to write off Allan, but it's looking like another blunder right at this moment. The club just can't take a break.

Nah I rate Allan. Hope he gets a good run.

Our pick was originally 14 which became 17 after compos/academies. Not sure how Freo ended up with it.

Must have been from the Bolton trade.

You have to understand, anything that upsets them is a hate crime, but the exact same thing done by themselves is perfectly fine.
BIGHAWK23 was perfectly happy to be a wannabe moderator when I went to perform a welfare check on our man with the ‘receipts’

Luckily we’re such a warm and welcoming board unlike those miserable campaigners

Perfect fan base for their side and coach honestly. They all carry on the same. When they’re up they’re insufferable, when they’re down they’re the biggest sooks in the league.

It's what I like about your board. I wish there was a bit more banter between boards (and less of Bay 13-lite about the main board) because sometimes team boards can get a little echochambery. But at the end of the day I understand that they're all moderated a bit differently and every board has a right to be more or less welcoming of visitors.

Can do this all day though. None of it means anything because that’s not how it plays out if we make the trade.

Pick 14 was for Baker. We also don’t end up with the players we got last year without turning down your offer (including Shanahan).

The mistake was the choice between the picks but, whilst I preferred Carlton’s at the time, it’s not as cut and dry. Carlton had a shocker with injury and you had a dream run (aside from Day), and were still one win off ninth, which is a 2 spot gap.

If, buts and maybes but the fact it’s taken till now for it to be a confirmed loss tells you that at the time it was a genuine 50/50 call.

Better picks in my view normally means a better chance at success.

In saying that our man Josh Weddle only cost us pick #18 in the 2023 draft. Not 2 or 3 first round draft picks.

If Hawks can do it, anyone can with the right recruiting team and a bit of luck!

In the mid to late first round though? Understandable if we backed a flag winning side over a bottom 4 side but 8 to 18 is hardly a list destroying call, less than ideal for sure but hardly the difference maker and the actually fallout won’t be known for years.

Was it really a 50/50 call looking back at it?

I feel like Carlton didn't improve their list at all in the 2024 trade period? They really only added Jagga who unfortunately copped an injury.

But they lost Kennedy and Owies (Owies is a spud but he's still Carlton's best small forward).

They missed out on Houston. They really only picked up Hynes (who looked cooked at the time, credit to him he had a good season).

If anything their list went backwards.

Meanwhile the young Hawks had added some finals experience and brought in 2x best 22 KPD players to bolster the list.

I'm biased but I feel like unless the Eagles really thought TB was not up to it anymore and wasn't going to move the needle for the Hawks it was a really poor call.

We should all be crying.

The once proud club would have died tonight if we had not gotten pick 2. I'm being serious done is the club had Oscar stayed.

There is no recovery without pick 2 and the fact we blew this up.

This is seriously mistake of an epic proportion from a club thay is desperate for young talent had we not had pick 2

heck your right

Almost like we don’t have flags every decade to cherish
Yeah but they didn’t have colour TV last time you won one without the need for an injunction or a white supremacist at the helm.

Will win a real one one day, I swear.
