Who goes to who?
Brandon Starcevich > Jamie Elliott
Harris Andrews > Mason Cox/Darcy Cameron
Darcy Gardiner > Brodie Mihocek
Ryan Lester > Tim Membrey
Rayner has to play as much midfield time as he can physically, he is an absolute weapon in there.
Do we go a hard tag on Nick Daicos? Can Dunkley go with him... Berry be a better option... just back our midfield group to beat theirs.
Keep very close tabs on Sidebum and Pendles.
Especially as I dont think Dunkley is quite quick or agile enough for Daicos. It upsets the balance too much to have one player on him while Dubkley does better on the inside bull, stopping the ball going out to DaicosWe'll try the same method with Daicos as last time. While there was no direct tag, we were collectively defending him just to ensure he doesn't get clean ball on the outside. I believe that tactic will be more sustainable rather than just exhausting one player chasing him all night.

More contests and a tighter game, having two fresh ruckman in stoppages will be an advantage. Don’t think there will be much of a discussion point there imo
Am I missing something? I always thought it was football 101 that big men are less effective in the wet.
Wet conditions often mean marking is more difficult and the ball is more often on the ground. The smaller and more agile players are therefore in the game and a key strength of a taller player is severely limited.
If it is wet, we should absolutely not be playing 2 ruckmen.
Yep I canAny Brisbane based members NOT going to the prelim who would be willing to share their P1 barcodes?
Myself and my partner will be in Melbourne next weekend for work and desperate to get to the G, but as a Priority 2 member I'm not sure there will be any seats left by the time I get in![]()
Interesting, I would have thought if the ball is on the deck more, it would mean smaller players are more likely to impact the contest.Witts, Read, Fort and Oscar had 6 marks combined in perfect conditions on the weekend
It's simply not true that big men aren't suited to wet conditions. It's actually the complete opposite.
In ruck and marking contests you need a presence because they're great opportunities to take territory. It just becomes a territory game
The sort of footballers you don't need are ones that are weak in the contest so you'd maybe consider dropping Marshall for a Dev or a Tunstill
It isnt expected to be that wet though

Part of me agrees but it also helps to reduce the reliance on our tall forwards which have been a problem so far this yearReally hope the rain stays away Saturday evening, IMO we have more skill in the side which is on show in good conditions, elite skills also come to the fore in wet weather but the result is a bit more of a lottery.
With all the attention/talk about Cam breaking so many tackles, I'd say he's in for a hard game this week. Pies will be targeting him and hitting him hard.
This is true.Doesn't seem to matter, he rarely ever gets held.

i remember we did that and also Lyons in particular would slap the fend off arm downwards to nullify it.Didn't we have a game a while back when Dusty was at the height of his powers when our guys where almost jumping on him when tackling him?
It was something strange but effective

.Correct, this is where the taller players come in handy to get the ball to ground bringing the smaller nimble players into the game.Interesting, I would have thought if the ball is on the deck more, it would mean smaller players are more likely to impact the contest.
