No, this has nothing to do with him wearing a different jumper. He is a bog average AFL footballer regardless of what jumper he wears. Don't give a rats clacker about his stats, just watch some of his games. What stands out are his howlers, poor decisions and lack of discipline.

I assume that you think because he is captain he would provide some leadership to our youngsters. Fair assumption. After having a look on the Kangas BF board, it's fair to say that isn't their view and that was before the trade inquiries. I understand that it's just a voicing of opinions and not necessarily factual but it made for an interesting read.

We obviously see this one different and that's okay. I personally think that there are way too many athletes and not enough decent footballers at the moment.

Hear me out - Simpkin to Richmond might make sense.

Money is not a problem for us. We easily have the cap space to front-load a contract for him.
Term of contract is not a problem. We could give him 4 years, he turns 28 at the start of next season.
Position is not a problem. Our problem with Hopper + Taranto is spread from the contest and Simpkin offers that.
Leadership is valuable. Yeah, I know, #lolNorf. But he still got picked as captain.

Ahead of the inevitable cries of "what about Taj, Lalor, Smilie" etc. If your concern is that Simpkin will keep them out of the team / starting midfield then my response is GOOD. They are kids. It will take years for them to develop. They will have to earn their spot.

I don't have any idea what we would need to give up in a trade. A straight swap for Tylar Young would be worth it just for the melts!

Another player wants more mid time, e.g., TT, which has worked out well; in fact, Simpson is much softer than Sonsie and plays like Jane.
