Since it's prelim finals weekend, I just realised I can't remember us losing a prelim! Did we make it in 07? Forgot. What's our overall record?

Lost 2011.

Won all our home ones.

Think we lost one in early 90s (1990?)

We went out in straight sets in 07 - lost in overtime to Pies. We've actually had a lot of close finals against Pies, but no-one ever talks about the rivalry. Drew a final in 1990, won by less than a goal in 94, 2007, close finals losses in 2011/12, close finals wins in 2018 and lost by a point at home in 2020.

Longer and closer rivalry than Sydney really.

That 2011 prelim is the only final I’ve ever thought we are literally 0% chance of winning. I think most supporters were absolutely stoked we even got there.

It's funny I don't remember much of 2011. Had a lot going on that year.

Damn, yeah its a pretty good record overall.

That was an amazing year. Went from spoon to prelim.

I'm hoping the end of this rebuild sees something similar. Suddenly we go from bottom 4 to top 4. Lions did it at the end of their long drought (top 4 in 2019).

2011. But we weren't expected to get close to Geelong, so beating Carlton in the semi sort of felt like our grand final really.
