We beat this mob last time because our big forwards kicked eight goals between them. Morris must fire and the other two must also hit the score board if we are to repeat the dose.
It was mentioned on one of the footy shows I listened to this week that small forwards are more likely to make the difference than KPF in finals as the footy spends more time on the ground in chaos situations due to the higher pressure.

I'd back Charlie, Kai, Zac and Cal's goal scoring power(Ty also brings good defensive pressure) doing a better job than the Pies smalls against us.

Charlie showed some great signs against the Suns, hopefully he steps up another gear to somewhere near his best form.

My favourite jumper by far is the red one.

The red and royal blue jumper with the gold FFC logo or the gold Fitzroy lion is a thing of beauty.
I agree that the red and royal blue was beautiful, but it never really felt our jumper to me.
The return of the maroon and blue was one of the reasons I jumped on board the Brisbane merger.

Hill out for them is huge for us. He torched us in the GF, one of their few players I worry about and he isn’t there.

I slept easier now McRae decided not to play him as sub.

I still can't believe that we have won 4 premierships in the last 25 years, even with 8 or so years of being non-competitive in this period. Pretty good for a club that most teams in the league viewed as a feeder club. That's the same premierships as the Eagles who started in the same year (1987) as the Bears. Since 2000, we are equal with Geelong and Hawthorn on four premierships each. Hopefully we can add one more this year!

Although there were some highs for Fitzroy and Bears supporters, there were a lot of downs. It always seemed liked the cards were always stacked against us. Fast forward, we are now considered to be one of the strongest clubs and the same teams who paid us no respect are sooking it up big time. I love it and long may it continue!

Yep, it’s made sweeter with all the opposition supporters laughing and mocking our great club in 2013 with the go home five.

I don’t know why it’s etched into my memory but I do remember Carlton and St kilda fans on here were saying they were glad we were in the competition as we provided great discounts on talented young players. Ever since then, we have made the finals 7 times in a row, won a flag and still have the youth and talent to compete for many more years to come.

GET ****ED haters and sooky academy whingers.

So am I.....I'm more than happy for us to wear the red jumper during the season proper but when it comes to finals we

should always wear our maroon brisbane jumper, we are competing as the Brisbane Lions. It's who we are today.

..just my two bobs worth on that.
Im not overly fussed if we wear the red or maroon tops. I just hate us wearing the white shorts against teams in white. Should have red or blue shorts to match the red top

Really not sure where I sit on our chances

For me the main reason to not feel confident about Collingwood winning was their end to the season which wasnt even top 8 worthy let alone top 2 worthy but the pressure they brought against the Crows would be enough to beat us at our best

For us it's clearly our injuries and not having the week rest. Do we have too many kids who would crumble like the Crows did against Collingwood 2 weeks ago?

Expecting a margin of 2 goals or less either way with Collingwood deserved favourites

Each to their own. I like the maroon, blue and gold too.

It was a happy coincidence that Qld's and Fitzroy original maroon colour matched.

That’s been the story of our season.

The optimist in me says Collingwood got to the prelim by beating Adelaide who finished top of the ladder on account of having the 16th easiest fixture in the comp.
The pessimist in me says we got to the prelim by smashing Gold Coast who played their GF the week before.

Could go either way!

Yeah I’d be a lot more confident if we weren’t missing so many of our best team, with a few others carrying injuries.

I have thought over the last few weeks, if Joe had hung around and we had a Geelong type injury run this year, and if we’d maintained the hunger to get this far, just how much we’d be favourites for winning the whole thing when we got to finals.

That top 23 players compared to others would be vastly superior to other teams imo.

Hey lions Fans, if the Lions bring their A Game tomorrow they will win, not sure pies form is good, their
form b4 finals was terrible, and the crows just cracked under pressure both games, lions must dominate the midfield
to win and have the finals experience now winning at the G.

Couldn't disagree with the bolded comment more. The standard of the Crows/Pies game was putrid. Yes they bought pressure, but Adelaide played like a side that finished 13th last year.
Off the back of their 2 finals, in my opinion there's not a side in the 8 Adelaide would have beaten.

Has it been announced anywhere what jumped / shorts we are wearing? I can't see anything

Anyone else have any trepidation about this narrative with Lachie being bandied about? Fages now talking about a decision he might have to make next week regarding Lachie is making me uneasy, like we may be thinking ahead of the game tomorrow. We've shown this year that when we're confident (or should be) going into a game our attitude/pressure is off and we get beaten.

I suppose the counterpoint to that is that there is the motivation to make it to the GF for Lachie, on top of all the motiving factors (Big O/Gardiner etc.). Still, I don't love it and think we should probably leave that chat for next week, if we make it.

I thought he seemed the complete opposite. Completely uninterested in talking about Neale

I mean half the bloody questions from these stupid journalists were about Neale

One area the Pies really stepped up against the Crows was their intercept marking in defense.
Ol Blondy really had a blinder and was back to getting free and marking. Like a man possessed.
This is where we could fall into that trap , so we need to not bomb in where they can out number and get loose and easy mark.
Maybe it could be as simple as keeping their backs accountable.
Going off last week , this area gives me confidence that we have the forward group to keep them all busy and accountable.
Getting exited.
But I need to get back to work.

So basically Collingwood have played two games in the last 30 days? Not an ideal preparation in my eyes. Might be good for the older guys like Pendlebury and Sidebottom but hard too get momentum when playing so little football.

Hit them hard early and don't let them get off to a flyer - the longer we stay with them or stay in front of them I think they will feel the pressure and will they be able to run out the game? No Hill or McStay. Not sure they have a lot of goals in them.

Might be a case of first to 90 wins!!
