The Footy Gods have seen the faces of the Lions Faithful, lifted to the HOLY SCOREBORED. They have seen the faces and heard the orisons at the GABBA and at the MCG. They saw the face of their friend Fagan and they saw other faces, many faces, a long series, a continuous stream of faces-hundreds, thousands, which all came and disappeared and yet all seemed to be there at the same time, which all continually changed and renewed themselves and which were yet all LIONS SUPPORTERS. They saw the faces of families and friends who had travelled south to the MCG from West End, Coorparoo, Aspley, Hawthorne, Deagon and Murrumba Downs, with hope in their eyes and love in their hearts. They saw the face of an old Fitzroy fan, red and full of wrinkles, ready to cry after Joe Daniher kicked the last goal of the 2024 Grand Final. They saw the face of a child, saw him holding the hand of his father as they boarded the train at Clifton Hill, wearing their Lions jumpers and scarves with pride and at the same moment they saw them at home rewatching the Lions winning highlights on the AFL Website. They saw the naked bodies of men and women in the postures and transports of passionate love, celebrating the Lions victory over Collingwood today and Geelong next week and they saw the disconsolate Collingwood and Geelong supporters still, cold, empty as the Lions carved them up. They saw Big Footy and all the forms and faces of each Lions fan, in a thousand relationships to each other, all helping each other, loving, hating and hoping. Each one was mortal, a passionate, painful example of all that is great about football. And all these faces rested, flowed, reproduced, swam past and merged into each other, and over them all there was continually something thin, unreal and yet existing, stretched across like thin glass or ice, like a transparent skin, shell, form or mask of water-and this mask was Fagan’s smiling face. And the Lions faithful saw that this mask-like smile too, this smile of unity over the flowing forms, this smile of
simultaneousness over the thousands of kicks and marks and hard ball gets, this smile of Fagan was exactly the same as the calm, delicate, impenetrable, perhaps gracious, perhaps mocking, wise, thousand-fold smile of Leigh Matthews after he won the 2003 Grand Final. The Lions fans perceived it too with awe after the 2024 Grand Final. It was in such a manner, those who love the Brisbane Lions knew, that this team would beat Collingwood today and Geelong next week.

They knew it because the Perfect One, Chris Fagan smiled.

I'm super nervous about how confident I feel. Starce keeping Elliott quiet and whether Andrews's influence can be negated could decide the game. I think Pies without Hill have a couple too many workmanlike players and not enough gamebreakers but we'll see. Hoping for a big first quarter given Collingwood are coming off a bye. Let's go Lions!

Big day. Off to Costco, lunch at That's Amore Cheese, then suit up and into the members at the MCG.

This has been a tough year: tough draw, unlucky losses, plenty of injuries but every time I thought we were finished for the year we would win an away game against a top side.

To get to the Prelim has been an achievement. A win tonight would mean that this season has been possibly the most inspiring I have seen from the Lions.

Go Lions.

3kz you know you are very good at this.
Have you thought about starting your cult

Who tf is Henry Smith last time.

Who tf is Ty Gallop this time.

Get it done boys, time to go for another big dance and settle a score with pesky cats.

This could go either way but I think what will get us to a win is:
  • Overcoming the elite pressure the Pies will throw at us
  • the Pies simply not having enough firepower to light up the scoreboard (no Hill, questions about Howe)
  • us having played into form...the Pies may be sluggish out of the gate. The week off can sometimes be more of a curse than a positive.

I would've loved Hill to play.

Fluked a great game once when we didn't pay him enough attention. Apart from that I don't see any similar threat coming from him any time soon ,if ever.

Yeah Hill has played one great game in his career, just happened to be the Granny. Has been mostly a liability.

can't believe I'm writing this but hoping for one more Zoblitz joke :( , painful as they are it will mean we have prevailed this evening :)

Even another sermon from the footy gods :) Am I being greedy asking to win injury free? please no concussions.

Go Lions!

This is a big price to pay... perhaps too big??

My AI image for the game.

Hopefully our guys are up for the challenge from the start.
I don't particularly want to see Snoop Dogg live but will put up with the entertainment should we win.

Go Lions
