Both penalties were clearly though. I'm not a fan of how umpires enforce the protected zone rule but in that case, it was a clear infringement.
The first was stiff with a full house noise, good umpires control the situation not take advice from players

True - but the Lions have been very impressive - powering home 25 shots to 14

It will be a very tight GF in my opinion

Hell of along time ago 1964 , Melb flogged Coll by 89 pts in the 2nd semi - they scrambled home by 4pts in the GF against the same opponent , kicking the winner at the death
And the massive 1989 turnaround Ess Gee. They smashed us by 76 in the QF and 2 weeks later, we annihilated them by 94 points.

So, nervous nellies, may I remind you:
  • their key forwards are Logan Morris and Ty Gallop; Charlie still looks like he's played one year too many
  • Collingwood let the Brisbane mids do whatever they wanted
  • Berry is injured and Neale can come back if he likes but he'll be sub-par; Lohmann is sore
  • the Lions coughed up some unbelievable howlers again
  • Aside from Elliott, Collingwood's forwards were impotent.
  • Starcevich and Lester again looked very weak.

Will it be closer than last time? Almost certainly. But I don't know what more this Geelong side has to do to reassure us we will turn up and take them down. We're fit and firing, they're staggering into a third Grand Final in a row.
They also decided to send Sidebottom to McLuggage head to head :$

We are waaaay better than Collingwood.
All of that but Morris is a jet.

Mate, we won by 119 and 81. I think we've done OK.
Thats only cos of our greatness. Both swans and port were also clearly the best opponents those years.

Brisbane clearly the best opponent this year. As with all the other teams we play in grand finals. Literally allways.

For once can we get a pies who have an average second half of the season and stumble into it cos the better team choked or get injured. Nope.

Would have been nice, but lions are a bit battered and injured too, so kinda limped in.
More weapons to cover those guys than the pies though, pies would have been a soft kill IMO.

All of that but Morris is a jet.
He is the most targetted forward in the AFL this year (champion data) for a slightly sub-average return. He's a bit like Chol - someone has to kick the goals and the team relies on a ridiculous oversupply of inside 50s.

He's taken 10 marks all finals series.

Ever wondered why Brisbane have lower scores per inside 50 than North Melbourne? He's one of the reasons and it ain't changing next week just because we're all nervous.

I feel like I'm going to spend this week pointing out all the things I pointed out this time three weeks ago. Brisbane have played the same way with the same weaknesses for three years now. It won't change in a week.

No hes trying to get up and play injured like he did last year. I hope they do play him as he wont be right to go.

If Berry is ruled out, I wonder if they'll go a swap of the two

Not sure it's the smartest option for Brisbane to play too many under injury clouds

I’ll be honest - I think Brisbane is a better team than Collingwood but I’d rather be playing them next week.

The Collingwood crowd, the chant, the way they’d boo Baz and Danger all game, the way Daicos would sook to the umpire every time Mullin breathed on him… horrific.

Scott has cracked the code to beat the Lions and now we need to execute it again.

My wife is a Brisbane supporter so we might need a mediator to communicate this week (maybe one of my kids :p)

I'm GC born but Geelong raised

Majority of my mum's side of the family is still up in Qld, including my uncle who is more of a league fan but he does like to let me know when Brisbane gets a win over Geelong

Hedging my bets here , even tho im not betting

Lions had a big win today , are reigning premiers , so i say it could be a very tight GF

But IF Geel could just dominate , right from the start , then the wheels , axle, steering rack and Cam Shaft might just totally fall to bits for the Lions and we get a big stress free blowout , lets hope so

The Bottom line , 14 Prelims in 18 years , the Cats need a 5th Flag
