This will be there 3rd GF in a row.
I think it will a tough match .
bit of pressure on them, 3 in a row for only 1 flag isn't a great return for what is a really good list with a great coach

Okay, time to play my favourite game.

Are these Brisbane players making our starting 22?

  • Ty Gallop
  • Ryan Lester
  • Darcy Fort
  • Sam Marshall
  • Oscar McInerney (in his current, broken down state)

I'm finding a spot for Marshall on the bench because I really liked what he did today. The others are in the VFL.

So settle, petals. We have the tools. We have the Qualifying Final. We can rebuild Win.

Lester certainly is.

Who would have thought Brisbane would end up playing 3 Grand Finals in a row?
Yeah.

They did well in the draft Ashcrofts and their other picks.
They had years down the bottom.

Out of the interstate teams they play pretty well here in Vic.

What happened ?
Classy press conference, as opposed to the sour tight lipped shit Mitchell delivered last night. Gave credit to both Brisbane and Geelong too.

Gallop looked like a star today.

The Pies team who played tonight were on average over 2 years older than our team that ran out on Friday night.

Going to be amusing watching them hit the wall in a big way next year when old age catches up the likes of Pendlebury (38 in January), Howe (36 in June), Sidebottom (35), Cox (35), Elliot (34), Mihocek (33), Mitchell (33), Crisp (32), Membrey (32), McStay (31), Cameron (31), Moore (30), De Goey (30), Maynard (30), Frampton (29) and Houston (29).

The only decent player they have aged under 24 at the moment is Nick Daicos.

I think they have hit the top of the hill and will start rolling down it from now on.

We wont have two shit starts in a row, wont happen. Two very experienced teams going head to head, Steward is a huge out but so is Berry and Neale for them. Anyone's game.

Not just Berry and Neale. Hipwood and Ainsworth. We have no excuses.

A previous injury? Not sure you can align the two. Anyway, we’ll know in the next 48 hrs. I’m not concerned.
I'll look it up but I'm pretty sure he had nerve damage causing pain when he had lisfranc surgery. Came back with no structural issue but got stomped on and despite no additional damage ended up missing games. That's how i remember it anyway, could be wrong.

If it's the same foot, the same nerve aggrevation, then we might have the same outcome

I know i said this last year, but this time it's true. They are hitting the wall next year

McCluggage - 37 disposals, 10 clearances and a goal.

He will not be that free next week.
Sing it with Oisin

Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to mind?

...... aaaand embarrassingly I just realised this song is Scottish.... but I'll take it anyway

Agree.

IMO it wasn't just bad execution though. It was cowardice. He didn't want have the pressure of the moment, so he passed off responsibility. Weak.
No matter McRae’s need to voice how tough they are and how close they are, and how they are winners, they are just a collection of humans. That magic they had is gone. They are just humans with human failings. I honestly doubt they’ll be near a GF anytime soon.

They'll review that game very carefully indeed.
Definitely will, but you can’t really change much. What do you do? Tell McCluggage to work harder? Run further? He ran hard the last two weeks - but most of it was a lack of close checking by his opponent. McRae had to take Sidebottom off him as he needed him to cover Pendlebury’s role.

McRae backed his midfield to be more impactful. But the Media-reported Dusty-heir-apparent, DeGoey was ineffectual. In my opinion, he was supposed to be that bull, that difference-maker. And by doing nothing he left too much to Daicos.

I noticed both teams are not really defence first teams. They both rely on clean skills and running forward to win. Well, the outcome was always going to be one team putting on goals and running away with it. And it was not going to Collingwood as they don’t have the forwards to kick big scores and run away with anything tbh.
