Ffs i have to be up for work in four hours but still so hyped from this game i can't get to sleep.

Anyone else struggle with this after a big exciting game? Or are you lot normal?

You'd think the bed wetters in the gameday thread would have learnt by now.

Recall posting during the middle of the season that Harris was playing stroppy, undisciplined football. Last couple of months he’s had the onfield demeanor of a kid enjoying the rides at Disneyland and his accompanying form has been immaculate. Maybe that Heeney ad is right.

And how ‘bout TyGa eh

Best 10 weeks of his career after a very so-so start. Reckon he'll come from the clouds in the B&F and finish just behind Hugh and Dunks.

i don’t think Daicos is over-rated. He’s a bloody good footballer. The problem is here’s not enough good footballers around him in that team.
He’s a very good player I agree. He’s also overrated. Commentators froth over him like he’s the greatest player to have ever played the game.

I repeat Gallop gets me horn knee. Haven’t had my stocking stuffed this full since ‘95 Christmas. Marshall, Reville, Mitsubishi mylanta.

Not to mention Hugh and Ashy.

Backline was immense. Dizzy was monumental as was Harris. Lester also.

Whaaaatever happens next week, boy am I proud of our club. We are spoilt right now.

FWIW, besides the result, I think there were some coaching moves that absolutely hit the mark during the game:

  • We consistently engaged their tall defenders, and didn't allow them to kick-start attack from defence (besides a patch in the second quarter), by peeling off and getting uncontested marks (as Adelaide did - particularly Moore);
  • Dunkley started on De Goey early, but I think we recognized JDG was "off", and therefore Dunkley went to, and tightened up on Daicos;
  • Gardiner was likely told to play off, and get busy further up field, against a labouring Micocek (particularly in the first half);
  • We clearly backed off from our kamikaze play (on at all costs) in the Geelong game, and got back to an uncontested kick mark game at times. So much for not being able to play multiple ways!
Speaking of coaching, I'm really hoping Geelong showed all their cards in the QF, and we respond accordingly.

If there's one team that can put them off their game, it's us.......

So sick of the Nick Daicos glazing, it’s all that’s ever talked about. Happy to be corrected but I honestly can’t remember him ever actually breaking a game open single handedly like the truly great do. Yes he had a good 2nd quarter tonight, but was helped along by some poor skills on our part. Once that tightened up in the second half he barely touched it and had zero influence.

Proper downhill skier, he is the King of the Seagulls.

And now for my actually controversial opinion: if you asked me to pick a Daicos to add to our team, it wouldn’t be Nick. Genuinely think Josh is better than him, not afraid of winning his own ball + runs very hard both ways while being almost as good by foot.

Please take out the whole thing and shove it up the Vics!
As a Victorian Lions Member, one of thousands who were at the game last night, I loved Harris Andrews staying on the ground and specifically thanking and applauding the Lions faithful. We love our team and we Victorians turn up.

The thing is, almost everyone I have spoken to in Melbourne who is a neutral, wants Brisbane to win. A Brisbane win won’t “shove it up the Vics” it will shove it up Geelong and most Victorians would LOVE that!

The Brisbane Lions, a bit like Fitzroy were, seem to be the ‘Second Team’ of so many Victorians.

😂 I never will. Let me cope with things by being ultra negative. Leave me alone

I've been a big Logan fan from day one, but thought his game was excellent and gave him a vote.
Not sure I've seen him that mobile; he was getting right up the ground and presenting all game. I feel his tank is really starting to develop.
But it was his contesting in the air that was a highlight for me. I'll have to rewatch, but reckon he was hardly outmarked, kept his feet and used his strength to hold good positions in the contest. He also had Moore on him and Moore only took 3 marks for the game.
His vision and field kicking is exceptional already.

Look at his determination. Gritted teeth.

He also won some clear frees against Moore too, he won that battle pretty comfortably. I also think Ty’s sudden emergence is huge as it now leaves the opposition guessing, freeing up Morris to an extent who just has no right to be as good as he is at his age.

We’re about to go into a GF with basically two teenage (yes yes Morris is 20) KPFs who more than deserve to be there - that’s just crazy.

Final best goals and marks should be added to the next year for voting. Only fair for them to be included somewhere

One of the best marks I’ve ever seen and I was so worried it would inspire them to come back, but our boys were like nope not today.

Looking for positives at half time, it suddenly dawned on me that Geelong did the same to us in the 2nd quarter of last year's prelim. Remember how they couldn't miss and were dominating.
Turned out to be very deja vu like. Just not quite the cliff hanger at end.
