I was dumping on the posters who seem too think Oscar was unworthy and still do
The thing is... Oscar wasn't great. I've not (and won't) argue Oscar as unworthy, but if this were a regular season game, I'd probably consider going back to Day.

That said, this is an emotional game. And our players have showed that they can be emotionally influenced. Oscar has a narrative that can help push our team next week. And even if Oscar isn't great next week, that push for the team is worth the (likely insignificant) difference between Oscar and Day.

I never said Oscar was great, more deserving and better than Day though

what happened to all the sam day lovers? gallop unbelievable, Marshall, gallop and Levi all real good

Don’t be a troll, your list of players shows you don’t understand the team’s structure

every single Day ‘supporter’ just wanted him to play the role that Oscar has come back and played in the past two weeks (contest marks, bring ball to ground, back up Fort in ruck)

All Lions supporters knew Day was a stop gap

Gross. Day played a role when we needed him and helped us get top 4. Gave it absolutely everything and lost his spot because he's absolutely spent.

Show some respect.

my list of players were about last years draft class, clearly Marshall isn't playing back up ruck, you calling me a troll wtf ?

secondly posters have moved the goal posters on day by saying gallop came in for hipwood, yeah he did but he could of also played infront of Day and instead of it being his 5th game it should of been his 20th game

and no not all lions supporters thought day was a stop gap

Team must be going well when the biggest point of conjecture all season is Day who everyone knew going into the season was a stop gap until a better option comes along. I’m sure all fan bases are the same but jeez we get some average posts in here

You didn’t think Sam Day, a 33 year old forward who had to be talked out of retirement was a stop gap? That’s more on you than anyone else

Gallop should of played from the start
Gallop was a first year key forward taken at pick 44. The way he’s playing right now I wouldn’t change a thing and would argue he’s been managed and developed perfectly till this point.

The best scenario has happened and you’re still finding something to get upset about. It’s probably just time to enjoy how well Ty is going and enjoy being in another GF

You made a bad faith argument to get a reaction…I call that trolling

And Day came out of retirement to sign for one year…it doesn’t get any more stop gap than that

i reckon the free kick bs is all media narrative for clicks. It's fairly obvious with Ralph going in and lying etc to stir contention and noise.
100%. Can absolutely guarantee that if it was a Collingwood player defending, the media would have been saying what a great spoil it was and just forget about it altogether. The hypocrisy is disgusting.

Which supporters thought Day would be here for multiple years as a mainstay and not a stop gap?

Just finished watching the replay and Darcy Gardiner was even better than I thought he was live at the game, best game by him for a long while.

Also noticed Sam Marshall's silky smooth hands, stays calm even in congested situations, I think we have another young gun people.

Gallop kicks 3 goals in a huge prelim and people are fighting about Day and how it's stifled his development? We are in the granny with 2 Young key forwards both in good form, let's just be happy about that lol.

Massive game last night. As has been mentioned we were clearly the better side for 3 quarters. Those 2 quick goals immediately after half time really gave us the belief to go all the way.

Sucks for Berry though, he has been playing so well. Bruce did a good job coming in for him though.

I've defended Joyce before when there is a usual pile on to replace him in our list. Joyce was vital to our 2024 flag, during home n away run he held down one key defensive post and supported Andrews as best as he could until Payne returned from injury.

Similarly I will be always supportive and thankful for what Sam Day has done for the club this year. He was there as a second tall providing cover for Logan Morris, Hipwood etc so they didn't had to ruck. His availability meant we could rest Big O for a major chunk of season to get his body right.

Day would be still playing if not for Big O getting over his injury issues and hitting form in VFL.

Getting a bit toey in here. Never fear folks, only a week away from the annual exultation of the happy clappers and the cries for banishment of any alternative thinkers.

I thought the umpire got it right with the two head high tackles.
Levi raised his arm to draw the free kick
And Shultz did go low but our tackling needed to be better.
But the 100 metre penalty!
I just have no idea how that happened.
Does anybody know?
Just watched the 100 meter on replay 5 times. 2nd 50 was paid against Levi for crossing the mark to cover Naicos. Bit of a lack of awareness from Levi.

When Garry Lyon asks Ralph about MRO stuff in the other program - whatever Ralph says is deemed as the word from upstairs. Whether or not he has influence on it, we don't know but he has some channel back to HQ.

I'm glad Browny nipped it in the bud when Ralphy went on with this front on contact charade. He was shocked that someone overruled his take and told him he needs glasses to see what's happening.

Same with Chief Dunstall, he absolutely cracked it on Riewoldt when he went on about the free. Glad these media prima donnas are being put in place by the sane voices.
