Just watched the 100 meter on replay 5 times. 2nd 50 was paid against Levi for crossing the mark to cover Naicos. Bit of a lack of awareness from Levi.

Also, thanks to Naicos doing the umpiring.

I was so annoyed when Umpire just did whatever he was calling out.

I would expect no less from our boys if the roles were reversed. The umpire was right on the spot watching and had just called Cal to be careful. Levi the comes in from the left and crosses the mark.
No issue with Naicos calling it out.

When Garry Lyon asks Ralph about MRO stuff in the other program - whatever Ralph says is deemed as the word from upstairs. Whether or not he has influence on it, we don't know but he has some channel back to HQ.

I'm glad Browny nipped it in the bud when Ralphy went on with this front on contact charade. He was shocked that someone overruled his take and told him he needs glasses to see what's happening.

Same with Chief Dunstall, he absolutely cracked it on Riewoldt when he went on about the free. Glad these media prima donnas are being put in place by the sane voices.
I can't remember who but either JB or Chief did relent on the front-on contact part which I was annoyed with, but even that is questionable.

Yeah we would point too, but the Umpire responding to everything we say is rare.

When Naicos was talking to Umpire they were like

Watching the game again, it’s actually not a bad strategy to kick straight to whoever Moore is on. Stats may not back me up but he isn’t the best 1 on 1 defender. He’s excellent in the drifting off role.

Something I've noticed as well. One on one he doesn't seem to know what to do.

When he gets a run at it or can drift across the backline he's very athletic and has good judgement with the destination of the ball and the jump at it.

But he's not a defensive KPP and can get a bit lost when the ball hits the deck from a one on one contest. Which it often does.

I am sure Sam Day was very happy to get the "G" and play in a final.
Glad for you Sam you did well!!!

Gallop should of played from the start
First of all, it's should HAVE not should OF

Second, if Gallop played from the start, who is to say he would not be completely gassed by now? Especially if he had been playing ruck minutes.

Morris is the exception rather than the norm.

Gallop comes from the Academy. Cant wait to hear Eddie talk about this 😃

Pick 41, and we bid matched because 41 points is low. If anyone else had bid earlier than 20 he could be theirs. I think. Someone can correct my maths.

They had their chance.

It’s not just questionable, it’s a definite non-free, by the rules… the fact that most people don’t know the rules (have literally never read them) doesn’t change what the correct interpretation should be. I feel sorry for the umpire, who was dead right but was copping angst.

Yep, he was a late bloomer. His improvement was acknowledged by him getting a spot in the VFL prelim side. I think he also went to state combine rather than national combine because he came on the AFL radar too late. Geelong was the one interested in him after Hawkins retirement. I think they even flew him down there for interviews or testing - vaguely remember seeing something about this.

If anyone bid on him in say pick 20 or 25, even we may have let it go as we may not have rated him that highly.

It was obvious from the VFL prelim that he had something. The fact that Geelong wanted him confirms that as they’re the masters of picking up players with late picks.

Interestingly Geelong's first pick was 41. As soon as their turn arrived, they straightaway bid on Gallop followed by Camporeale. If they had an earlier pick, may be they would've still called his name.

I agree, we are lucky they didn't have an earlier pick, I was screaming at the live feed match the bid... Match the bloody bid!... MATCH THE F ING BID!

I really wish commentators and journalists would better acquaint themselves with the rules. Their misplaced outrage flows into many fans which creates controversy when there isn't any. Perhaps this is Ralphy's objective all along.

I feel former umpires like Razor Ray who dissect controversial decisions on the media should be given an even larger platform to take the time to explain these things to the fans and media alike.

Thank God Browny was there to fly the flag.
It's amazing how few players actually know the rules. And given the amount of ex-players in the meeja, it flows on. I can pretty much guarantee someone like Jack Reiwoldt wouldn't have looked at them ever.

i reckon the free kick bs is all media narrative for clicks. It's fairly obvious with Ralph going in and lying etc to stir contention and noise.
You could tell the FoxFooty producer got in their ear near the end of the last quarter, when you heard Jack Reiwoldt bring it up out of nowhere
