The narrative that Pendles injured himself in the warm up and didn’t pull himself out so that he could clock up another match closer to the all games record and then immediately asked to be subbed is pretty funny.

The lions supporters chanting U S A towards the end of the game was all-time!! Mason really is unlikeable.
I've heard he's really quite decent off-field, but yeah on-field it's the kid of face you'd like to see buried in the turf.

I get it, Nicky D is going to take all of his other records at the Pies and has already taken his role simultaneously playing and self-umpiring.

It’s time for Pendles to get his.

He's doubled down on his opinion again today in his article. Media flog
I nearly fainted while driving to work this morning while listening to Mick Malthouse on ABC Melbourne radio around 7.45.

Mick - everyone needs to stop their sooking. It was not a free kick !! Starcevich is allowed to spoil in a marking contest, and he executed the spoil perfectly. He had eyes on the ball and knocked the ball away with his fist.

Not exactly an original take to complain about the media, but anyway.

We beat Collingwood by five goals, in a preliminary final, at the MCG. That is an incredible achievement. It really stinks that the media focuses on one umpiring decision instead.

Apparently it's not good enough for us to beat everyone, anywhere, anytime. Now we have to win every game without the opposition ever getting close, with no debatable calls going our way, in order for anyone to give us our due.

Yes and no mention of Will Ashcroft nearly getting his head ripped of near the boundary line and then seconds later the Pies get a high free kick(which was there) but not as obvious as the one Will missed on... and then the Pies kicked the resulting goal, 2 goal turnaround.

Two weeks ago, the media was just full of the Rayner incident
This week's game it is Starcevich

I don't mine the commentator's thoughts as these two incidents unfolded.
They make an immediate reaction on what they thought happened so i have no problem with that.
After all they are there to entertain or that's what they think

It is the pile on after the game that always riles me along with the "headlines" on articles which only want people to click on the article.
Great to see a lot now coming out stating it was not a free.
They have had days to digest the footage though. The umpire had a split second and got the call right.

However, the umpire in the Rayner incident also made the correct call in my opinion.
Because no one in the media went into bat for him and the AFL threw him under the bus he got dropped.

Shouldn't bring this up again either...

but where was the media focus on the incorrect advantage call after Neale was tripped and paid the free in our forward line at the end of the 2023 GF that we lost by 4 points.

We now all know (as if we didn't already) the reaction if Collingwood were the team on the receiving end and lost.

It's not nothing. The criticism of the umpires has become overwhelming and relentless, and if there's another lineball decision to make late on Saturday, there's no doubt which option will get more of it.

You hope it doesn't make a difference, but they're only human.

Or better yet, criticize Membrey for not having the balls to go back and take his kick which was such a regulation shot from 35m out. I've messaged Whately on SEN on their text line about 5 times telling him to have some an integrity and address this. He hasn't, Doesn't suit his gutter click bait narrative.
Kate McCarthy highlighted this pretty strongly on The Round so Far.

The pushback from former footballers had been pretty strong, as compared to media pundits.
Brown & Dunstall led the way pretty strongly on Saturday which took a lot of heat out of it. David Schwartz yesterday, now Buckley today, and probably others. Only Jack Riewoldt seemed to go hard against it… but i get the feeling he’s been placed in the role by Fox to be there inferior version of to Kane Cornes.

Happy that the AFL hasn’t made a statement on the decision, but will be looking forward to Ray Chamberlain explaining the rules to Whateley.

Brisbane Lions All-Australian… but i only know that from the opening 10 seconds of the latest episode.

Left the Lions to chase a media career after playing for St Kilda, which worked out for her. She did miss the first premiership though. Very fast and kicked a few good goals. Also, has a pace maker.

Its just hilarious that the complaints that the whingers are making are just not there. Starc had eyes on the ball the whole way, got the ball with his fist before any arm contact and was moving his body side on to try and avoid front on contact.

It was freaking textbook, he should be getting celebrated and if he wore the other jersey, you can be sure he would be. It was as big a moment as Elliott's mark was but instead of being rightly celebrated, he is being so wrongly panned.
