Also adding that it Ryan was talking about clubs enquiring as to Darcy’s availability and specifically said Darcy didn’t want out.

Mitch Cleary also thought that Darcy would want out but that wasn’t based on any evidence and was instead speculation based on Jackson playing well.

No idea who old mate on Twitter is but considering he’s dug out a 3 month old quote, I wouldn’t be too concerned.

We are competing for top four, picks will not help us achieve this unless we use the picks on a player. There are only two big fish players that would move the needle that would consider moving to WA. If we could turn Darcy into Pickett or Warner you would do it. That ain't happening in 2026 so it's a no from me dawg.

O'Brien re-signed with Adelaide earlier this year.

Think this was a rumour if Adelaide got Sam Draper. That obviously didn't happen though.

Even if this itk is actually itk, don't see how it happens. Firstly, Darcy would have to be keen, which isn't a given. And then either Essendon would have to offer something extraordinarily irresponsible or Freo would have to have something significant lined up to use Darcy's salary on.

Until there's any indication that either of those unlikely scenarios are in the works, probably put this in the "won't happen" pile.
