Yes, they went out in straights sets which was pretty bad but they still finished on top in 2025.

2024 they finished 15th. So that shows how quickly you can turn it around. It seems to be more an off field thing then anything else. Picks mean nothing if the same idiots are in charge.

Lathlain won the spoon in 2010. In 2011 they finished top 4. They got Jack Darling as a priority pick at 26 at the end of 2010 but he only kicked 24 goals in 2011 so wasn't the deciding factor.

Nope..... Crows never had a bad period like your blues from 2005-2007.

Crows didn't make finals from 1994 to 1996. They were bad but at worst posted a win loss record at 8 wins and 14 losses in 1996.

Crows were bottom 4 in 1999 and missed finals in 2000 after the 1997-8 flags. Got a top 5 pick in 1999.

Crows missed out on finals in 2004. Again.... Bad but not bottom 4 bad.

Then the crows had a finals run of 2005-09.

Crows were 0-6 in 2010. They were bottom 6 or even bottom 4 that year. They were bottom 6 in 2011 then were rewarded with a soft draw in 2012 with Port Adelaide, GWS and suns twice. Not surprisingly got top 4.

Crows missed out on finals in 2013-4. They were not bad, 9th to 12th placed finishes in both years.

Kurt Tippet salary cap scandal means no 1st and 2nd rounders in 2013 and 2014. So crows missed out on Patrick Cripps .

Crows make finals in 2015 to 2017.

Then comes the rebuild. 9th to 12th placed finishes in 2018-9. Bottom in 2020. So they got pick 1.

Crows were bottom 4 in 2021 and 2022. But both years got 7 or 8 wins. So priority picks there.

Narrowly missed out on finals in 2023. Bottom 4 with 8 wins in 2024. again..... Bad but 8 wins doesn't translate to any priority picks

But I have posted this on the main board. I do blame the equalization rules, which is more fair and reasonable and accurate.

Eagles spent 6 years in a row in making finals from 2015 to 2020. 2 of those years were grand finals in 2015 and 2018.

8th spot in the finals means no top 10 pick. So hard to rebuild with very few picks or early picks.

And if we add the 2 years in-between 2015 and 2020. That was 2014 and 2021, both years they finished 9th.

So that means pick 10 in theory. But both of those years that pick 10 was pushed back due to various reasons of priority picks, free agent compo picks, father son picks and Next generation academy picks.

Having players retired like Venables, Sheed and McGovern retired with injuries or concussions did not help, but even then they were always gonna drop off after 2020.

The Gold Coast priority draft pick assistance package definitely has crippled The Eagles (and Norf's) ability to rebuild from scratch.

Right now the Suns have 3 picks inside the top 15 of the draft (including 2 top ten) which doesn't seem fair, although granted, they somehow fleeced Collingwood and Port Adelaide last year and got John Noble and Jack Lukosius for Port's 2025 FRP

Those picks will be absorbed for 2 blue chip top 5 rated national draft prospects and of course Petracca.

The AFL unwittingly is creating a monster up at the Gold Coast.

I think you Freo fans are entitled to be pissed.
