Sanders trade is the stuff on fantasy. He would only sign a 2 year contract max to keep his options open for Tassie. Crows would want him to sign long term.

Your defenders got massacred by Fremantle in the final round and somehow you are still arguing against the idea of selecting the best available defender. This is under the pretext that they're not better than your current options, even though your club has probably passed on dozens of quality defenders over the past 10 years in the belief they didn't improve you enough. Strange rationale.

Sorry, but that's some pretty naive 'logic'.

For every Tom Stewart there's a dozen Kieren Collins'.

Also, what if I told you that we kicked a total of 4 goals in the most important half of our season?

Anyway. You won. Well done. I'm glad your recruiting team learnt something in those 20 years between flags.

If the Crows are chasing Sanders then I'd be asking for Butts in a straight swap since they know we want him him and the Crows themselves are keen on Oliver and Ah Chee.
Trade our most promising young star for a fringe player we could get for free next year, surely this is satire?

The worst part about trade week is when some journo or even some Bf poster puts out a rumour or comment about player X asking the question of player Y and then the pages of debate that follow in here about something that is almost certainly not going to occur.

Better than discussing the Saints list tbh

Yeah sorry there is no way the club trades Sanders, even if that included getting Butts. Even though I’d love to see us start making some tough calls and take some risks it’s just not gonna happen.

Let’s face it, we’ve always been ultra conservative when it comes to the trade period. I don’t think we’ll ever see a high risk/high reward trade done anytime soon.

Adelaide:
In: Sanders
Out: Butts, F1st

Port:
In: Pick 11, 2 x F1
Out: Butters

WB:
In: Butts, Butters
Out: Sanders, Pick 11, F1st

Plus shuffling of late picks.

Not bad. Maybe Port might want a little more, but shuffle some late picks.

Maybe we need to be a bit more daring with trades? Finishing 6-10 in the nowhere zone ain't doing much for me.

Butts plus Crows Future 1st for Sanders and our F2 or F3 makes a lot of sense, especially if we are confident in getting Butters next year.

Solves our KPD issue and gives us more ammo to throw at Port for Zak next year if they refuse this year. We still have Libba, Bont, Treloar, Richards, Kennedy, Freijah and then Garcia, West etc as midfield options next year.
Don’t think we need to be giving anything back in that deal. Butts plus F1 that’s probably in the teens is, if anything, a good deal for Adelaide.

Darcy, freijah, croft are our most promising youngsters. Sanders should still come good but if he can unlock butters and butts, you do that every of the week.
Croft will not be half as good as Sanders will, and I rate Croft pretty highly.

Trading Sanders this year would be leaning into fold the club territory. Two firsts and Butts would be the starting point, but still a no from me.
Trading a player that we literally dropped for the last game is fold the club territory? Do you think about what you post before you post it?

He’s maybe 2nd if you don’t consider Sam Darcy at 22 young. Still a decent margin behind Freijah. Could make an argument for Croft too.

Darcy obviously #1, sanders and Freijah splitting hairs, but those 3 are significantly ahead of everyone else under 24 on our list and should be non-negotiable.

Well this is a massive overreaction.

I don’t suggest pushing him out the door, but if Adelaide manage to woo him across, we could see some major benefits.

Butts to help the defence for starters. Plus additional capital for Butters.
