Exactly. Just say ****ing no.
If this club ****s this up when their no.1 option is just to say no, then they might as well fold.
It’s very much a ‘you have something a bigger club wants, so you need to do the right thing and hand it over’ scenario.

Set a price, above value and wait.

If it’s not met, so be it.

For me this is a bit of a line in the sand moment.

We have not shat the bed in the same way we did when Brown wanted out.

We have straight batted the questions about him leaving.

We have set a decent price.

In 2026 having Jy is of more benefit than having mid teens to twenties picks that are for future drafts.

So either we get overs or Jy stays.

And if neither of those things happen you would really need to question what in the f*** we stand for as a club.

Enough is enough.

Waves of rage engulf me at Morris's absurd comments along the lines that that Collingwood shouldn't give us anything like we want. What a s*** pice of work he is.

In contrast the more I listen to James Hird, the more I like his much more measured and reasonable perspective. Hard to believe but true.

I am of the belief that both Hird and Lloyd respect us due to the clear rivalry of both having good sides through the 90s.

Respect is not something often afforded to our club within this industry.

let him know, only a tweet away....

I agree. I heard Hird interviewed somewhere recently where it seemed to me that he had a quite a large degree of respect for us.

Similarly, Matthew Lloyd has stood up for us more than once on the Sunday Footy Show (which I refuse to watch anymore because of the next name here) against that serial North hater Barrett.

Have we? From whose perspective?

I'm yet to hear anyone outside our club say "yeah, that's a decent asking price, Jy is worth 2 first rounders".

Because he isn't.

He might not be worth 2 first rounders to other clubs, but he is to us, which is all that matters really given he is contracted and we aren't the ones trying to make the trade.

You setting market value is no more valid than any other poster setting market value.

If I had an asset that I didn’t want to sell, set a a price that was over what its perceived value was, but someone paid it, why wouldn’t I sell?
Because some supporters automatically like to assume the cuck position.

The "other clubs" are the market. If we price ourselves out of the market then of course there will be no buyers.

Us saying he's worth 2 first rounders (and again, he isn't), is just us over valuing our player, which makes us look silly.

Sure, it might be a tactic to ensure we keep him (although that would be giving Brady too much credit), but for me I'd prefer to move on a bloke who doesn't want to be there, doesn't want to do what's best for the team, and doesn't deserve to be captain.

You can already see the shit we'll cop if he isn't traded, even more so next year if he doesn't perform when we had the chance to move him on.
