In HirdsTheWord last post you just quoted, what was incorrect? You haven't understood anything that I've posted.
If this is the case this is on Merrett. He knew that Scott didn't want to trade him, he even came out on AFL360 the day Merrett met Mitchell, and Scott said "all gloves are off."
I think he thought he could have one foot in both camps, but he should've been more fully committed from the start.
Like I've been saying for a week... Merrett... still... hasn't... officially nominated.
Look who got his swagger back off the back of a tweet from a Sam Edmund tweet. Happy for you.I thought T Watson said Zach will be at Essendon 100% next year due to Welsh??
7.20pm tomorrow night. It won't go away.

Because Hawthorns meetings outside of trade period seem to be the only ones consistently leaked to the media.Do you have the emotional empathy of a 5 year old?
Clubs talk to opponents' players and their managers all of the time. All that Sam and the recruiting team would be doing is explaining the Hawks' vision and where that player would fit into the team and that vision. The same thing that all coaches/recruiters in the competition would be doing with multiple players every year.
In the two cases that we know about (Merrett and Allen) the current clubs' future prospects are awful. It is possible that the relationship between those players and their club/coach/team was also already poor.
How exactly is Sam 'undermining' the relationship?
It is up to that player to make the comparison and determine what they want in their footballing future.
Is Chris Scott undermining the relationship between Marshall and the Saints?
Is Dean Cox undermining the relationship between Curnow and the Blues?
or, perhaps you're getting caught up in the horse-race reporting? This is hands down the most poorly run process of any potential trade. At least the Saints put their hand up and said they couldn't get Aleer done.
This is two clubs who simply have no idea how to operate.
Coming from Freo? Spare me.
We've done nothing wrong. But will be presenting options tomorrow night when the whips are cracking.
or, perhaps you're getting caught up in the horse-race reporting?
You don't think Hawthorn know how to operate?
It is historical hatred mate. We are the Israel and Palestine off the league
If Zach had of nominated GWS, they would be discussing Terms.
How??? Coz we didn't drop our pants in the first week?? Jog on.Nothing wrong haha.
Been horrible to deal with as per usual.
wow, so much angst over nothing.
Merrett approached Hawks, wanted a trade (fact)
Hawks placed a value on the player.
Essendon placed a value on same player.
Valuations different.
Big deal, nobody is at fault.
Essendon have every right to retain their contracted player, as they should.
Move on. The bickering going on he is just plain laughable.
You haven't understood anything that I've posted.
mate, no one has.
Essendon have copped embarrassment after embarrassment for 20 years.
The doping saga was happening while the Hawks were winning 3 in a row.
They 'made a stand' on Daniher and instead of getting 5 & 9 in a strong draft, they got 10 in the worst draft ever.
They also knocked back Dunkley because 2 picks (in the worst draft ever) was too much to pay.
They crowed about Mackay, we ended up with Barrass and Battle a year later and Mackay is a crab.
We got Massimo off them for nothing, turns out he was better than they thought too.
Now, the same hated club is contending again and has turned the head of their captain and best player for the last decade.
What makes it more emotional is that trading him and having one bottom out year would be the best play for them right now and had he nominated the bulldogs, it would be done. But they also have to reckon with the fact that trading their 30 year old skip to said hated rival would make them almost premiership favourites.
If you cant understand why this is so emotional, especially for Dons fans, then you're not looking very hard.
Plenty have
Why are still bothering trying to reason with these people.Yes, you don't.
Read what you just wrote again.
We don't have anything else to give you.. Like I said the only offer Essendon want is two first rounds, Will Day and Zach Merrett to come back in 2027.
You said it. The door isn't even open.
Cheers![]()
He has ignored my previous two postsWhy are still bothering trying to reason with these people.
Sam Mitchell knows the time is now for his club, list is primed - Merrett makes them a much better chance at a flag. They need to front up.
meanwhile, most Hawks supporters are acting like a teenage boy around the hot girl at school, throwing erasers at her acting like they don't like her, then going home to the sock draw while they dream about what could be.... Although instead of a sock they use a wizard hat.
