I imagine GC will try to move 15 and/or 18 down even further, too. Let’s say they get two picks for those selections, eachOut of interest, how many picks will be gobbled up by the GC, BRIS, CARL bids?
Right now before our round 3 pick those teams hold;
GC: 15, 18, 24, 28, 29, 36
BRIS: 17, 23, 44
CARL: 9, 11, 43
Thats already 12 of a possible 32 picks between 16-48 that have potential bid implications right? Am I missing anyone?
Talented prospect, have him mid 20’s, but I kinda hope we don’t go with a genuine KPD or KPF with our firstI'm hoping we go for Blake Thredgold from sturt with our 1st pick
I’m guessing all will be traded out before or on the night.Out of interest, how many picks will be gobbled up by the GC, BRIS, CARL bids?

This seems about rightI’m guessing all will be traded out before or on the night.
Unfortunately we don’t have the picks in this draft to provide meaningful points for GC. Carlton may look to move up or move one into next year.
Looking at the open pool, let’s assume we still end up with the 16th player. Early days still but this is how I’d roughly see it:
Top Echelon:
Duursma
CDT
X. Taylor
Robey
Cumming
Sharp
Farrow
Next group:
Schubert
Dovaston
Lindsay
Marsh
Our mix:
Greeves
Phillipou
O.Taylor
Barker
NHH
There will be more bolters and sliders but at this stage that’s how I see it.
Barker probably the most likely, assuming we are ok with his knee going forward.
As you can see we probably aren’t blessed with options, so getting up the draft would be nice but no point getting our hopes up.
I think Bicks would be happy with that result though.
Greeves is a slight chance. Jobe Watson type midfielder who is slow but great distributor by hand or foot. Not an absolute bull like Sharp but big lad at 191cm and already well built (maybe a bit heavy even).Too much talk of SA players who typically underwhelm compared to where they are taken.
Who are the Victorian midfielders or key forwards that will be available with our first rounder?
3 live picks (16, 48, 55) + Ah Chee, probablyWhats our list situation looking like? How many “live” picks are we likely to be using in the draft?
We got 64 back from North. Guessing they will be used as steak knives in a pick swap?3 live picks (16, 48, 55) + Ah Chee, probably
Would surprise me if we didn’t move around some picks on draft night with the F2 and F3, given we were prepared to trade them for Cal
I think you're underselling the depth of SA Talent in 2026.SA talent doesn’t appear crash hot next year, though we have showed that’s not the be all and end all.
The bigger issue is what losing our 2026 1st could do to our trading hand.
I’d probably be willing to do it if we were to get an end of first round pick or at worst a very early second back in next years draft.
But when you are dealing with future picks, nothing is certain.
Except maybe West Coast being poor. They could be a team to deal with.
Possibly. Although im obviously not including Cochrane given his (bullshit) connection to Port.I think you're underselling the depth of SA Talent in 2026.
I reckon they'll be very competative and one of the stronger national squads along with Vic C.
Also it might be the last opportunity to load up on young talent before the Tassie concessions kick in.
I’m guessing we just use it to bring in an F4 or something, can’t see that pick having any general value otherwiseWe got 64 back from North. Guessing they will be used as steak knives in a pick swap?
We already traded our f4 in the Maley deal. Hopefully it would be an f4 from a club we expect to finish low.I’m guessing we just use it to bring in an F4 or something, can’t see that pick having any general value otherwise
Barker is the only one of your mix that I'm overly keen on.I’m guessing all will be traded out before or on the night.

Edit: deleted Grlj for some reason.
Plenty can change but you’d have to think at this stage those are likely the players in the mix?Barker is the only one of your mix that I'm overly keen on.
I rate Talor Byrne very very highly but I want a midfielder with our 1st pick and that's down to Fred Rodriguez or Riley Onley. Cannot see Talor Byrne going that high, just hasn't had the fanfare he deserves ...my hope is we trade up if it's possible to land Byrne or Liam Hetherton with our 3rd's, Blake Oudshoon-Bennier it's possible he's still there at our 3rd pick, another that hasn't had the fanfare he deserves.Plenty can change but you’d have to think at this stage those are likely in the players in the mix?
I’m well aware you want Byrne. I don’t disagree, it would just be a surprise at that pick.

Not too much of a surprise, Byrne’s probably in that next tier down and because of the athletic traits he has, could jump up if a team’s looking for a specialistPlenty can change but you’d have to think at this stage those are likely the players in the mix?

Only passable?Rodriguez looked very good last year.
Champs were only passable. Don’t see a heap of colts games, did he stagnate this year?
Based on what I expected? I thought he was a bit underwhelming.Only passable?
He was the Black Swans MVP at the Nationals and made the U18's All Australian team off the back of his Nationals campaign?
Seems the WA selectors and the All Australian selectors thought he was a bit better than passable.

LRT probably a bit old these days to get drafted. How many South australians or SA based players do we think will go in the draft?
Sharp
Marsh
Schubert
Cumming
Phillipou
Barker
Le Ray
Threadgold
LRT
LSP
BOB
Dahlitz
Nairn
That's 13 and in a poor draft there's only typically 45-55 taken isn't there?
Does this mean South Australians are gonna make up a quarter of the draft or are ppl way over rating the lower down South Aussies?
