Not sure he can fill Francis's boots to be honest.

I was surprised to see Will Green take #45, I wonder if he will go for a lower number.
I remember Will saying he chose 45 because that was the number he wore for cricket as a youngster. I'm guessing that because he didn't swap to a lower number last off season when he had the chance he'll stick with 45.

Well that's the 2026 list of 44 finalised. Annual guess for no particular reason at the numbers that the newcomers will don:

9 - Phillipou
10 - Curnow
13 - Cootee
25 - Rosas
31 - Chamberlain
32 - Kyle
35 - Serong
38 - King
39 - Vacant
42 - Hetherton

I suspect Will Green will be shifted up the pecking order & take a lower number.

Nothing predictable about those number allocations.

I wonder why Dattoli changed. I'm also curious about Curnow at #35 - I imagine he would have been given his preference. I see the club notes that it was the number his brother wore - but the number he himself wore (#10) was also available. However, I can understand the desire to start with a clean slate too.

I'm glad Green stayed put at #45.

His brother, Ed, wore No 35 at Carlton.

I'm really excited to see Dattoli in 2026. He looks as if he's bulked up a little & I like his clean hands & composure. Papley nominated him as a player to watch as well.

He wore #30 at Carlton, you may be getting him confused with McKay.
