not all suit exactly but off the top of my head

Greeves. Tall outside midfielder with some inside game.

Hibbins - Hargreave. Forward / midfielder

Phillipou - Mifielder/forward

HEA. We could just pick him up

Rodriguez. Was highly rated bottom age but has stagnated a bit this year. Has speed and endurance and nice skills on both sides
Yep agree with all above.
huss after 38 is free to match with any pick. Think we will match.

Also i'm keen on Leon kickett. Given we missed on Dovaston and Pickett.

My Order would be
Greeves
Phillipou
NHH
Rodriguez
Curtin
kickett / Huss - still a small chance he could get through to rookie list, so wait until everyone keeps passing.
Then Draft kickett if Huss is a rookie outside the list.

I would to but I suspect he may slide through a bit. I really liked his pressure and attitude in the small sample size he showed as a forward but I think clubs are also questions if he is just a small midfielder who has speed and endurance but lacks a little class.
He could easily slide to rookie draft.
I have rated him pretty much equal to Sweid but I may be over rating his forward stuff and I would not pick him based solely on him being a midfielder.

He won't make it as a midfielder. I want him as a small forward prospect.

My issue with not matching sweid is it kinda runs against what the nga is for, our nga is full of Islamic kids whose community and family are bedrocks of their lives, then one just has to unplug and move across the country alone just because we couldn't work the numbers? You nurture them for years and gain trust of families then , yeh nah, it's just business.

Wonder if it even makes parents hesitant about the whole caper moving forward. Id have matched for multiple reasons, culture is a funny word but it has many strands and threads, this is one
give us a spell. unplug and move across the country ffs, he's not being shipped off to some military camp!

Some families are tight knit and their religion is part of their life...others can go and
Work in the mines no problem, it's not that hard to understand

mate this is some 'noble savage' shit. there's lots of 'tight knit' families in every colour/religion/etc.

We helped him through the academy get drafted, thats EFC job done, he did most of the hard work.....
Its not like he's the only kid, heading west, how is it any different than us selecting Farrow or Eagles selecting Duursma and CDT.
When you sign up for the draft thats the risk, you may have to play interstate.
Saad left to the Suns got his opportunity, then moved back later to us just to get back to VIC and suns obliged.

Swans didnt match a bid for Carmicheal, he would be happy hes drafted and get on with business,

You would have to extend the same courtesy to everyone in the draft.
I get the family dynamic but where does it stop ?

Kako was at Sweid's house last night, Huss was sitting right next to him when drafted.

Community is important

The article about Sweid, HEA being brothers needed to expand more. Kako just as close to them

I've more than said my piece on this topic so anything I add now will just be retreading old ground. Needless to day, there will be some disappointment there.

Can't be mad about not matching Sweid until we see who we pick up.

Could also see bids on ison, Zac McCarthy, max king and Tylah Williams which if done at the right time means we pick again in 7.

Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves
Matt Leray
Fred Rodriguez
Sam Ainsworth
Ollie Greaves
Koby Coulson
Jesse Mellor
Riley Onley
Sam Swadling
Jevan Phillipou
Rory Wright
Archie Ludowyke
Talor Byrne

Maybe Taylor Bryne as a small forward? Or a more outside running/link up player with pace or good disposal.

What's the deal with the talk of WCE 'hoping' GCS wouldn't have enough points to match bids? Surely they've got a numbers guy with a spreadsheet who could tell them how many points were potentially available?

Was it a question of how deep into deficit they were willing to be pushed?

Woosha and Don Pyke had the abacus out in the background

When you nominate for the AFL draft, you nominate to go to any of the 18 clubs. Sweid knew there was a possibility Essendon wouldn’t match a bid, if he wanted to go to Essendon very badly then he would be disappointed but Fremantle did draft him which is more than lots of other hopefuls will be able to say. Taylor, Robey and Dovaston are best mates but didn’t get drafted to the same team. This is professional sport.

Freo's pumped, they rated him higher than top 25.

I don’t think we take both Sharp and Robey, it will be one of them and Farrow.

Uh Huh Ok GIF by Bengals
