Seems to have an already well built body so should be fairly ready to go. Bonus for us.

He’ll have that extra point to prove considering Swans didn’t match. That little extra drive is never a bad thing.

I reckon we stole this bloke just to piss off the swans after we cheated them out of the Premiership in 2016 by paying off the refs. Nice work dogs.
Just another reason to hate us. Love to see it.

I like that he has basically taken kick outs at every single level he has ever played at. We need as many good users as possible to take pressure off Bailey Dale.
We have been crying out for an alternative for years,

Daniel's used to piss me off short chip that always put us under pressure (Bramble now does the same)
Lobb random torp and thats about it

perplexes me that people watch a couple of clips and determine someone doesn’t have a high ceiling without considering the amount of development that can occur in an elite environment. Anyway, just my opinion.
Basin ones opinion on selectively edited highlights packages is the stupidest trope perpetrated on these boards. Especially when said player is for the most part from outside of all recent discussions.

When one really should put their faith in the professionals who go out day after day and have all the metrics at hand to actually form a valid opinion. Do these pro's bat 1000? Of course not.

But they aren't making their calls off highlights packages either.

Watched a heap of him throughout the year.

My thoughts:

A "cake player". Set him a defensive task, and he will get it done. Set him a distributor role, and will not let you down. Is a safe pick that can see him slotting into a defensive position and playing 200 games. Unlikely to be on the highlights reel by breaking lines, or lasering a 50m pass to a teammate but can be trusted to take the option.

Not the most athletic player or have eye catching skills but will be that 10-15 type set and forget player in your line up.

The main ceiling raiser is his leadership and potential scope for mid development.

With swans hat on, reminds me of Nick Smith/defensive only Mills. Some of you may say "who the **** is Nick Smith?", but played 211 games for us and was probably the most trusted to do his job.
Nick Smith used to always cop the "most underrated player in the comp" nomination so I'd take a Nick Smith type player 7 days a week.

Thanks for the update.

Yeah, loved him when he was with us.

Would have loved for us to get all three academy guys in main draft but have prioritised King and Kyle.

Be interesting if we now pick up Mcnamara in the rookie draft

Caleb still does that at North and they just haven’t learnt.
Go well Lachie 5 😁

From the every-touch vids, he plays like we want to play.

I dont mind the idea of a player that is adequate in all areas, rather than one that is excellent in a few areas but has some glaring flaws, particularly in defence.

I view this pick in the context that in my opinion he wouldn’t have been taken ahead of Jaques last year, with this draft being noticeably lighter for talent. So will be looking at him as if he were a 2nd round pick. Not expecting a star.

If he’s another Bailey Williams that can reliably be amongst the first 18 picked in a few years I’ll be happy.

Looks a good build and could easily fill out to be a strong unit. Some of the footage shows him using his body well to protect the ball in 1v1 scraps which shows some decent nous. Admittedly I didn't scrawl through hours of Lindsay footage, but I actually wasn't that impressed with his kicking and I feel like Carmichael is on a similar level. A couple of those goals from 50 also show's he's got the penetration already which is impressive. Feels very Bailey Williams-ish as far as dependability and impact goes as his potential.

He reminds me of lachie jaques

I know he's in Sydney, but nearly a full day after we've selected our first draftee and no media/social media stuff at all?

No call from Bevo/Power/Regan welcoming him? No interviews with anyone?

Seems strange.

Agreed. We need more Carmichael content.
