It used to be anyone who was on an AFL list in the last 25 months was automatically nominated, you had to opt out.
Hence why the numbers are so high

Im not sure whether thats changed, but i had a mate who played back in the day, had no interest in going around again after being delisted but his name appeared.
That would account for 5 players x 18 teams x 3 years = about 270 players. Still about 750 opt ins when about 70 will be selected.

Lachie Murphy didn't nominate. it's finally over
Ridiculous. Does no other club not understand the value of non-statistical roles, shape keeping and experience/leadership? This bloke brings everything a 23 needs in spades. Amazed he didn’t have multiple bidders for his services. Was only a stomach bug from appearing in our semi finals side, and we finished top.
All the other clubs are stoopid.
