Seriously?The top 20
I think the rule was made with the thought there'd be a couple bids and that typically 20 picks would be about the make up of the first round. I don't see a draft which has a 20-pick first round ever happening again tbh, when you consider F/S and NGA picks across 18, soon to be 19 clubs.Seriously?
**** me, the A(w)F(u)L is just the most absolute ****ing bush amateur league, make up ridiculous rules as we go along, organisation in existence.
So 4 x Gold Coast, 3 x Essendon, 3 x West Coast, 2 x Richmond and 2 x Melbourne kids get the three year contract, but Bulldogs, Adelaide, Geelong and Freo draftees don't despite them being their clubs first picks in the first round.
What a ****ing joke.

God I loved it when Tim Callan played.I love that he just gives off resting b!tch face all the time. We need a hard nut in the backline.
IF that was their thinking it's even more ridiculous. So if there was a draft with 3 bids in it you have 20 kids get a three year deal and one misses out? How ****ing stupid is that???I think the rule was made with the thought there'd be a couple bids and that typically 20 picks would be about the make up of the first round. I don't see a draft which has a 20-pick first round ever happening again tbh, when you consider F/S and NGA picks across 18, soon to be 19 clubs.
Can't leave Danny Southern off that list.God I loved it when Tim Callan played.
We also had a great tradition of number 8 going to tough bastards for a while, often defenders (Kennedy & Toohey) until Hahn made it a midfielder tough bastard number.
21Definitely. Did Matthew Dent wear number 8? I remember he was pretty dour and tough too.
Calling that he plays round 1.
Wearing #2 he can hold down his side of the locker room as VC while Sellwood, wearing #41 can hold down the other side as captain.Have we voted on our leadership team yet? Reckon this guy is at least VC
This will be different next season. Bids can only be matched with 2 picks and and there's no more discount. Also cant hold more picks than list spots. So next draft with at least 4 bids in the first round will mean first round and compos will come back down to 16-18 spots instead of ballooning out to 25+ for just the first round.IF that was their thinking it's even more ridiculous. So if there was a draft with 3 bids in it you have 20 kids get a three year deal and one misses out? How ****ing stupid is that???
Seriously, I HATE how much the AFL has the fans by the short and curly's, they can basically make whatever ****ed up rules they want (hello stand rule & lasso rules) and because they know we love the game regardless we'll still keep coming. Like it would take a MONUMENTOUSLY BAD (instead of just ridiculously bad) rule change to stop more than 2% of us turning up, so as long as they stay just below the MONUMENTOUSLY STUPID threshold, they're fine.
I think he is just really seriousHas the guy smiled since we drafted him?

I can see that aswell once he plays a few VFL games to catch up to the speed of the higher level. The benefit of taking someone out of the Northern academies is that they've usually played atleast a few VFL games before being drafted. He is already well built, could see him play plenty of games next year, if he impresses.
Love this. Seems like he’ll add them passing on him as extra fuel.
We have smile.
Now we can all get some sleep.
List is in great shape right nowWhat a crew. We are pretty stacked for young talent.
