Elite hands, strong running power and has a year less development, moves and looks a lot bigger then his measured size. The lack of footy and basketball background is a classic case of high upside.

Really like this pairing with our other forwards.

I don’t see as many problems with his kicking but the ball drop can be lower, his still growing into his body.

Is on the very young side could he be more Nick Riewoldt with his running power and strong marking and Hands.

Don’t know how the best rated key forward slid so far to allow us to get him with our second pick. Were the crows playing games by not grabbing him ahead of marsh?
Crows only used 2 picks, first at 22 and PA first pick was in the 50's and they didn't even use that. These SA lads were there for the plundering and sleepy Mark plundered, I suspect a deliberate strategy because they recognised the SA clubs draft hands were so weak. It was bloody brilliant.

Added - I thought it was an A grade haul, so did these people.

My guess is that he will be the pick of our selections this year. Just has the attributes to become a premium KPF. Sticky hands, good body work, elite endurance and he has a ground game and some agility. Look at the frame! Will be massive in time. sort the kicking and we home

We clearly didn’t draft him for 2026/2027 purposes.

In 2030 we will have bid farewell to at least 4 of our current talls.

That’s when he should come into his own.

Patience is a virtue.

When you say it like that in the 2026 draft we may need to draft another tall forward to develop at BH with him.

You look at his attributes and upside potential you wonder why he fell so far. I assume he hasnt gotten it all together consistently. A lot to work with regardless.

I feel the teams picking above us couldn't afford to be patient is the reason why.

Essendon in particular I think went too safe and similar with their 3 picks. Having 3 top 12 picks meant they should have grabbed him to pair with Caddy.

I look forward in time to reminding them of this **** up.

Schubert was barely eligible for this draft at 17. Upside is enormous.

I can't help thinking looking at his frame that he could be a monster when he fills out.

Take a look at Thilthorpe in his draft year and he very quickly became a beast. Schu as a bit more filling out to do but has a similar frame with the shoulders

Schubert needs to get on the Tilthorpe beast diet, and grow a Viking beard for good measure. I'm really looking forward to seeing that transformation in two or three preseasons.

We are in a good place with having Schubert, Nairn, Dear, Ramsden, Watson, MacDonald and Ginnivan all at such a young age.

a very good ball Handel-er
You are too much to Handel, CD XBOX

Please stop stealing my stuff, Salieri

slightly off topic, but were the cats into this lad with the pick after us? It just makes sense for them with their lack of key forwards on their list, plus they went with 2 wingers when I thought they were well stocked in that area
