Feel like it’s well past that now. This is a solid first innings score for a regular test, let alone a day nighter. Chasing anything north of 200 in the last innings is going to be next to impossible

I think the idea from Smith will be that we only bat once. Nesar and Inglis stiffen the batting order some.

It'd be nice to walk out tomorrow and the day after and hit 600 odd, with Carey getting a cheeky 150 on day 3.

This pitch is becoming easier to bat on, which is strange on the first day of a day/night test. Leaving all the fielders out on boundary doesn’t seem like a great plan for the last wicket either.

Quite a common trend in modern times, if you bring all the fielders up they can smash yiu all over the place with big bats and short boundaries.
But I am for a deep mid on and mid off bowl full and straight with catches in place behind the wicket.
