Root has taken the Mickey since he's 100, the monkey is off the back now watch the runs flow off his bat from here on. We don't have a plan to bowl to him once he gets past 20.

He's a slogging w***erJofra has to be one of the best no.11s in test history, he is at least a no.9 or a no.8 or even higher if he really put his mind to it.

What run figure would you put on not having to bat for 30 minutes under lights?Imagine showing common sense. Why would we want to bat under lights with the new ball?

It's very flat and even-paced. Really need to apply ourselves against their extra pace.Come back bat properly tomorrow morning and push for 400
That is an abysmal finish to the day.
Potentially a test losing effort.
I think the idea from Smith will be that we only bat once. Nesar and Inglis stiffen the batting order some.Feel like it’s well past that now. This is a solid first innings score for a regular test, let alone a day nighter. Chasing anything north of 200 in the last innings is going to be next to impossible
Whats the average first innings score in test matches at the Gabba. I'd imagine England will still be well under that. What run figure would you put on not having to bat for 30 minutes under lights?
Not creepy at allHell, Hayden just tweeted and said the nudie run is still on.
That’s Grace though, not Matthew.
TBH, I'd rather her commentating than Haydos. Couldn't be worse, could she?Hell, Hayden just tweeted and said the nudie run is still on.

This pitch is becoming easier to bat on, which is strange on the first day of a day/night test. Leaving all the fielders out on boundary doesn’t seem like a great plan for the last wicket either.
It's never as good or as bad as the folk on here make it out to beAn utter classic day of Ashes Test cricket.
It’s ebbed & flowed.
As it should always do.
