I assume the reference was more about visiting sides in Australia. And really other than India recently the vast majority of test series in Australia in the last 25 years have been pretty one sided affairs with no real threat of losing a series. Give or take SA and India peaking from time to time.Is that true?
West Indies pulled out a great draw in NZ today and India have been swept at home a few times recently.
We do well in England. Still remember WI and India's epic wins in Brisbane.
Probably loads more examples.
Swings and roundabouts when we play overseas, but the thing that irks me most I think about Aust test series, is that we generally don’t see the best in opposition players. Kane Williamson and Joe Root prime examples, as well as a lot of spin bowlers over the years. Obviously the different playing conditions is an elite feature of Test cricket, but is unlike most sport where you can anticipate the best players from each side performing against each other.
