I had a really bad trot a while ago where it seemed every trip someone did something idiotic. But lately it's been calm. I wonder if people are affected by the season, moon or cosmic rays.

People often say that, but you often see it with cars BEHIND the first car anyway AND ...apart from the lights , you can often clearly see there are no cars coming the other way.

Its because they are selfish bastards who don't care about anyone behind them , and can't look at the traffic lights for 3 minutes without rummaging through their manbag or something.

The traffic lights already have built in overlap between the red and the green. The "Pause " has already happened. If you are that nervous about driving through a green light, stay safe and stay home. 0Km/h has also proven to be very safe. ( Though cars can still come crashing through your loungeroom window . )

Had a prick in a turn lane last week, third cycle waiting for a green arrow, sit there while I blasted the horn 5 times to get him going when the arrow came. He went through it long after it had turned red again, too much of a coward to sit in front of me any more.

Too many people, too many cars, too many obsolete roads with cheap traffic light systems. In europe they have smart traffic lights that talk to each other. Ours are mostly the cheap ones with basic timers.

Our traffic lights are connected to SCATS which is one of the worlds best traffic light management system.

Is it not programmed correctly? Is it poorly maintained ? ( sensors )? Have they tried to put dumb traffic lights in amongst them ? Because ...its not working like the worlds best traffic management system.

Maybe the programming is obsolete. I know roads where travelling at 70-80 will take you miles, and you catch every light if you drive that way.
But these days there are always vehicles , often at the front of the pack, who refuse to go faster than 60 in the 80 zone, and when that happens, you miss the sequence of the lights, and you stop at most.
( Also , while i'm very impressed with the acceleration of modern cars, they might as well use the Fred Flintstone method for how fast they ACTUALLY accelerate. ).

A lot of people also don't seem to know the difference between a School Crossing and a normal Pedestrian Crossing. Pedestrian crossing , once they are past you can go. School, they have to be right off the road. It shits me sometimes that Lollypop peoples, like to stand in the middle of the road until all the kids are off, then casually stroll to the edge. Sometimes they even stay off the curb, so legally nobody can go.

Sometimes they even stay off the curb, so legally nobody can go.

Shites me when the lollie campaigner stands in the middle and the kids are 200 metres away and they hold up traffic for them.

Always amazed people drive like idiots in company cars.

Had a tiny little shit box tailgate me all the way to my driveway today, then as I pulled over so he could go past and I could reverse in, see it’s a company car. One of those shitty little Bursons cars running around like dickheads.

Main problem with my street is people use it to avoid the highway, so they don’t like doing 60 and especially hate doing 40 in the school zone, even though it’s a nightmare.

Although after 100 years, council are fixing the school zone by introducing parking bays, long overdue but I’m sure they’ll **** it up. They are also adding those raised speed bumps, so I guess they’ll become crossings like the examples above…Also turning the school crossing into a raised one.
