Recap at a glance:
  • Harley Reid has signed a two-year extension, which keeps him at West Coast until at least the end of 2028.
  • He still has one season left on his rookie deal, the new extension kicks in for 2027.
  • Cal Twomey reports that the deal could reach up to $2m per year if Harley triggers all incentives (e.g. this is not a base $2m per year deal).
  • This is a straight two year extension, with no player option for a +9 or anything similar.
  • Get a big dog up ya, Victoria.

Let it be stated once and for all (well maybe it’s been said more than once), there is nothing better than great jeans, except a pair of great jeans and in this regard, lots of really good things come in pairs 👍
On greats jeans, I’m glad the kids of today finally got rid of skinny jeans. Unashamedly did wear them in the day but I do cringe a bit when I see older millennials still wear them

Bro's speed-running everything he should've been doing the first year at the club in the span of a month :tearsofjoy:

The chains are off!

Seems he's settled now the contract's out of the way. Now that he's decided to stay, he probably feels way more comfortable doing this stuff.

A quick glimpse of the eagle perched above his ankle in a recent Instagram video was all it took to make headlines, spark Reddit threads and set tongues wagging.

And while the image is a clear nod to his club, the West Coast Eagles midfielder said its meaning runs deeper.

I was going to get a hawk,” he told STM with a laugh before revealing: “I got it for when I left home — to show independence.”

I also still rock the skinny black jeans pretty much exclusively.

Am almost 40.

I DGAF what anyone thinks of what I wear
There's nothing wrong with skinny jeans. Baggy jeans are not flattering, and make the wearer look like a slob.

For whatever reason, skinny jeans are not the in thing at the moment. Following fashion trends has always been dumb. Stick to what you feel comfortable in and makes you feel confident.

Skinny jeans and baggy jeans have been doing the fashion cycles for decades, along with flares and boot jeans. They come and they go, around and round.

Yeah but then how do you go out in public without getting arrested or ridiculed?

Article from the Sunday Times got posted, decent read but nothing crazy.

few moderately amusing bits:
And between Tongala and this new life, he’s managed to carry the values the regional town and his family instilled in him: loyalty, respect, and community. It’s part of the reason he signed on to West Coast until 2028 — leaving him, and plenty of WA fans, smiling. Crisis averted.

“I think everyone thought I was leaving too, which made it a bit better,” he laughs, with a glint of mischief in his eye.

Again is talking aboiut being team focused and trying to help others and lead the team.
“I don’t (let the pressure get to me) I try not to, and I don’t think I do,” Reid says with quiet confidence. “I’m pretty laidback and cruisy. I try to live in the present, and in the moment, and come back to reality to think ‘what can I do now, what can I do to better the team now?’ in whatever environment I’m in. I try not to think about it too much — 80 per cent of it is mental and the rest of the 20 per cent is physical to get on the field.

“You can mentally prepare and you can value the boys around you. It’s something I’ve found when times got tough: to introduce leadership on the field with the boys, and off the field, to get my mind away from things on the field. That was something I wanted to try and create in myself.”

think he's a decent chance for leadership group if we go for a pretty major rework with Allen and Gov gone.

Some good Pictures too 🤣

It’s just nice to see him settled, really. Those photos look like he is calm and measured; fully enjoying his time at the club and it seems like it’s aligning to his performance- albeit on the training track.

He’s had one of the more unique entrances into footy for a while and we really weren’t as prepared as we should have been for the attention he got- both on and off field.

For all that’s been said in the media - one point has rung true, it probably wasn’t going to change until his future was decided. Now hopefully he can use that breathing space to grow into the person he has always seemed destined to be.

Honestly if I were in his situation having people declare what I was going to do based off nothing but sniffing their own farts, I would definitely have tried to make it seem like I was leaving before signing a big extension.

It’s almost like big jeans do this to sell new jeans regularly. Just wear the jeans you feel comfortable with and make you feel good. **** big jeans.
