Recap at a glance:
  • Harley Reid has signed a two-year extension, which keeps him at West Coast until at least the end of 2028.
  • He still has one season left on his rookie deal, the new extension kicks in for 2027.
  • Cal Twomey reports that the deal could reach up to $2m per year if Harley triggers all incentives (e.g. this is not a base $2m per year deal).
  • This is a straight two year extension, with no player option for a +9 or anything similar.
  • Get a big dog up ya, Victoria.

Article from the Sunday Times got posted, decent read but nothing crazy.

few moderately amusing bits:
And between Tongala and this new life, he’s managed to carry the values the regional town and his family instilled in him: loyalty, respect, and community. It’s part of the reason he signed on to West Coast until 2028 — leaving him, and plenty of WA fans, smiling. Crisis averted.

“I think everyone thought I was leaving too, which made it a bit better,” he laughs, with a glint of mischief in his eye.

Again is talking aboiut being team focused and trying to help others and lead the team.
“I don’t (let the pressure get to me) I try not to, and I don’t think I do,” Reid says with quiet confidence. “I’m pretty laidback and cruisy. I try to live in the present, and in the moment, and come back to reality to think ‘what can I do now, what can I do to better the team now?’ in whatever environment I’m in. I try not to think about it too much — 80 per cent of it is mental and the rest of the 20 per cent is physical to get on the field.

“You can mentally prepare and you can value the boys around you. It’s something I’ve found when times got tough: to introduce leadership on the field with the boys, and off the field, to get my mind away from things on the field. That was something I wanted to try and create in myself.”

think he's a decent chance for leadership group if we go for a pretty major rework with Allen and Gov gone.

Some good Pictures too 🤣

Looks in ripping nick. Puppy fat gone, seems to be looking after himself.

Poised to rip the competition a new one!

Thank you for sharing 👍 A nice article with some good insights and from the outside, it appears he (Harley) is happy and settled. Hopefully this will translate to a big year on field in 2026.

As for him moving house himself, good grief man, how do you find the energy, pay someone to do that! Unless he is a minimalist and there isn’t all too much to move. Depends on how much “stuff” he has accumulated in 2 years 😆

What a great article and pix. Quite surprised it's from The Worst, have they turned a corner?
He seems such a well balanced person, and mature beyond his years. I like how the middle finger was totally justified for a gay slur. Definitely the next captain.
I can feel a dynasty coming on! ((;

We have bigger priorities than a KF, not to mention he is still far from proving himself worthy of a huge offer.
Agreed but teams will offer big contracts to get him out. I think our list team will look to bring in more ready made players an he would be close to top the list of Gettables imo.

I think WC would be and are keen for sure. Maybe I've seen his worst games, but everytime I watch GC he doesn't do much, with an outstanding midfield too

A goatee a mullet a moo-stache a Dutch or Chops, geez even a Van Dyke (which would actually look cool on him) I don't care or GAF.
Play footy good. That is what he does and what we need.
Maybe not dye your hair pink though, there are lines we don't cross at WC
