I mean, yeah, that's exactly what's happening. It was also the weakest pool in the last few years. Compare KLWT to McDonald at pick 8 last year and it's hard to imagine KLWT would have been a top-10 pick in that draft. Maybe at pick 10 instead of Gregor. I'd rather have had Hipwell if KLWT had been in 2022.

I think the outrage is a combination of not getting the nuances of the W drafts and just North fatigue.
Yeah it’s just easy click bait but when you delve deeper into it it’s really not that big of a deal

Plus people just see the title and not care about the underlying details attached that you have outlined including the fact that several players that draft who were rated highly were prelisted prior to the draft like Lauren young who would have gone earlier

This is my only account. Also not a man weirdly.
"next time we play lions i want dawes name circled on the whiteboard the little rat needs some treatment" "try being more composed instead of an adhd child" "dawes just looks so annoying like a little chihuahua that wont shut up" 🤔
If I may interject, all of those comments were from the same person. Dawes had a great game and it's great to see passion on-field.

However, Dakota the hair-pulling whinger I DO take umbrage with

In a world where an extra $23k is supposedly no big deal, the offers Bodey and Wardlaw got from Hawthorn and St Kilda were indeed only marginally better than the revised offers put to them by Brisbane (once it became clear Bates was going to leave).
Hmmm, that's a completely different story to what I have heard.

Needed to be done though. I was shocked when he got an extension (as probably everyone else was on here). Same with GWS as well.
If the AFLW think the problem at GWS can be fixed with a couple of first round handouts they're kidding themselves. As least Tigers won't do it on handouts and that's good we don't want them, we needed an overhaul and to take it more seriously and finally we have done this. GWS should be next.

considering she couldn’t get a game this year in a poor dogs side she should be only a second rounder max

But the AFL will make us pay a first rounder which is overs for her output so far
If she can come on anywhere it will be with you guys. Will benefit from a change of club and development program. Dogs can only ask what she is worth and that is not a first rounder. We delisted a former pick 5 in Stella Reid, If I'm the Dogs I'm taking a second rounder and running.

North and WT tampering with the draft. Wonder if the afl admin will come down on Them
Do you think another team will pick her up first before North's first pick in the draft?

Why just so she can leave in 12months for nothing?

Can’t see it happening

Players out of contract nominate a club they get there

See ah chee in the men’s
This is nothing new

we even got Kim Rennie this way after dogs refused our second rounder

I think teams would be silly not to think about it.
Its a 30 player list, a young player with 2 years in the comp, you take the risk and be prepared for a bit of media scrutiny

Everyone's getting a bit carried away with Carlton. The only really impressive win they had for the season was beating Brisbane early - which in hindsight looks more like Brisbane struggling to get the new adjustments to their gameplan sorted. They had a charmed run through the finals to get as deep as they did, West Coast were just not up to it and had no business playing finals this year, and Hawthorn were depleted and completely shattered by the back to back North floggings. They weren't close to Brisbane who weren't close to North.

It's one thing to say they could improve and maybe push for a Grand Final this time, which they certainly could, but it's really got to be a more compelling case if you're saying they're going to somehow improve so much that they can get their first win against North, a side that has only ever accounted for them comfortably, and by some pretty big margins in recent encounters. Carlton finished top 4 so they're definitely going to get a harder fixture and I think they're likely to suffer the same fate as Port this year. I think they're solidly middle of the road and if they have to play all the other middle of the road sides instead of GWS and the Suns they could struggle to cement a finals spot.

They’ve got some good recruits so a bit depends on how quickly they settle in - but yes the fixture will be harder.

Agree on the Blues.

Kind of a case of one swallow doenst make a summer.

Ok lets see 2026 holds first.

Had a break out for sure in 2025.

See them to be a solid middle of the road team.

They do have some stars but there much to do to match it with the best.

Had a favourable draw most games at ikon.

See how they fair in 2026.

Also depends on its vflw team as well.

They are getting there but needs to be consistent.

A watch and wait.

With the Pies making some little improvements they did well in the draft this time around finally.

Might be time for some players to retire and in with the young and out with the old.

They could have a blues of 2025 in 2026 Pies.

AFLW 2026 will be alot more even as well and about the next wave of great teams.

AFLW 2026 a transition.

Same as AFL.
