33 year old Sheerin who we used a R1 pick on? That said she’s retiring next year?

That one?

You recruited an AFL captain from the wooden spooners for nothing, whilst getting a reach around at the draft by the AFL for the third straight year
Yeah the same dual all Australian who got head hunted and won the grand final best on ground. That exact one.

Also its pretty rich or you to compare it to the injury prone AFL captain whom his club couldn't wait to ship out for pick 2. Ironic really.

What about you beating all top 4 teams by 262% in finals ? 😂 looks pretty even comp to me ! I think you should aim for 300% next year - time to rise the bar.

I really want you to keep the winning steak going so the AFLW product gets diminished and called out for the mickey mouse version it actually is.

"Head Hunted" - Which simply means recruited, right?

So now good recruitment is a criticism? Even when you invest in someone for the now and trade a R1 pick for it?

Seriously, you couldn't be more hypocritical if you tried.

The Lions have made 7 of 10 GF's.

And you keep talking about this "winning streak"

The season is 13 games long if you make the GF and not everyone plays everyone once. So at the moment it's the equivalent of Essendon in 2000.

Anything North has done has been eclipsed 10x over by Brisbane or the Gold Coast in the mens equivalent.

You can't mount any reasonable argument around competition fairness or equality that doesn't sound completely stupid.

Being too good, without any handouts, recruiting the traditional way, is not a crime.

Pulling the shit you have, with a Academy Rort as a backup buffer, is...

Lions made 7 out of 10 grand finals, the early ones were when the competition was at its inception. At least we had Adelaide Crows as an on-par opponent followed by the Demons. We didn't go all win season, in fact no one did. More importantly when Gold Coast and Port Adelaide arrived, both Adelaide and us starting losing talent to clubs based in our state. This is in addition to losing talent back to Victoria.

We didn't lose just list cloggers or depth players either - a lot of top end quality moved too like MVP Bates, highest goal kicker Wardlaw etc. I am not going to list them all here but the list is long and quite talented. In spite of that we regenerate and continue to try and stay competitive.

You don't have an opponent on-par right now. Not your fault but I'd temper the AFL/VFL/AFLW record of 27-0 considering it also includes a AFL/VFL/AFLW qualifying final record of opponent scoring only 3 points. 3 freaking points lol. You also beat the 2nd, 3rd and 4th clubs by a combined 262% ! You are essentially beating out teams who don't have players or talent pipeline but at the same time your supporters feel the need to come to other boards with puffed chest and trying to vindicate your achievements. "hey look at us, how good we are" only gets you weird looks to be honest.

I think we are running in the second or third spot in terms of team profile in the AFLW comp and I know we are considerably behind in terms of competing with you. There is nothing to gloat about here, the sooner you get a team that steps up to compete with you, the better it'll be for the competition in general. Victories will keep looking hollow otherwise.

You keep comparing mens equivalent - no team in men's comp has run 2 seasons undefeated and sitting miles ahead of rest of the teams in the ladder. Lions in 2024 could've been knocked over in semis if not for miracle goals of Daniher, in prelim Geelong was ahead with 2-3 mins left etc. We also lost games in 2025 home and away as well as beaten in quali. Even Grand final score was level come half time. Bottom line - there was on par competition who had to be overcome for us to win anything. I won't even say anything about GC, considering they've played first finals in 15 years of existence only just now.

North Womens don't have competition that can be considered on-par and it considerably diminishes whatever achievements you're putting on the table. but hey, who cares - roll in another undefeated season and 300% thumping in finals, Bravo !

Wow I shouldn't get excited about an elite North team because some salty nerd on the internet says it's weird.

Get a grip on yourself jesus christ

Well time to get more excited then.
Omg North got another pick 1 ! We're all so salty :tearsofjoy:

FYI I think I'm one of the few people that doesn't have a chip on their shoulder about the Lions in the men. I remember the day you kicked like 1 goal against the Tiges at the MCG and to come from there to where you are now is nothing short of awesome

We've come from 15 years of darkness my friend. Still hold the record for AFL highest score against in Adelaide oval - Adelaide kicked 177 against us in 2016, bleak times. Even the overall record of Geelong kicking 239 was against us bears back in 90s.

We tend to wind up other supporters for fun, but full well know our good run in finals/trading/recruiting/list management will end at some point.

Why are the most rancid beings on here north W fans??? Weird coincidence I guess...

You need to remember its years of pent up frustration on their mens' team. They need an outlet too, so let them haha.

But their flex is misplaced targeting Lions supporters and a lopsided league, but it's amusing to watch none the less.

Says the dude who has made an account specifically to target one poster. Post on your main account coward.

Do the dogs played hard ball with north during trade period?
Theres always been a bit of niceness in the aflw, but theres no way north can afford to get weston-turner in a pure market.
Do the dogs ask for their first pick and 3-4 players?
Pretty hard to play hard ball with a player they refused to play

I think we are over inflating this news.

She’s played 8 games in two years and averages 4 disposals per game.

If she wasn’t the number 1 pick (which she was picked after missing most of her top age year also), then it would be a relatively non story.

North weren’t an unbeatable force at 3 qtr time last week.

And back on Sheerin, we recruited her from Richmond at 33, because for the previous 6-7 years Sydney had rejected her for their program and she resorted to playing local footy in Sydney.

This was hardly like recruiting Daisy Pearce

But she IS the former number 1 pick.

But she IS the former number 1 pick.
Doesn't really have any bearing on her current value. She's not getting a game in a team that didn't make the finals. Of course she's sought-after on the basis of potential but if you're comparing it to the mens' she's in a similar position to Zane Duursma. If he requested a trade I wouldn't expect Pick 4.

Cowardly and unhinged little doggies targeted Emma Kearney throughout the finals series.

Didn't stop her from dominating though. Champions just rise above it (while laughing).

It absolutely has a bearing, the same way as a player drafted 40+ can be dominating but will have a lower return if traded. Its the way of the industry
