Absolutely love the way Sammy relates to the players. FWIW Sam played his junior footy for my junior club the Mitcham Tigers but I never actually met him as I am 4 years older than him and my family relocated to NSW in 1988 which is why we never crossed paths.

I just spoke to one of my junior footy mates and he's informed me that you're correct. I could've sworn that the last time I spoke to him he said that he came through the Mitcham Tigers after I left for NSW. Apparently Sam did a guest speaking gig at some point which is maybe where the miss communication came from.
