The whole mantra of a unified, aligned vision out of the wilderness seems a little thwarted by this announcement.
If it’s a desire to be close to family and friends, and there’s a possibility he stays on as a consultant in the footy department, I’d say there’s less of a chance of there being an issue with alignment

Still have to wonder who the replacement might be and whether they’d do a good job and be aligned and on board with everything in a way that leads and doesn’t just pay lip service

Considering the strong mandate that Welsh just received, it probably gives them an opportunity to take their time with the appointment. Auld would be a very good get, but it would be hard to attempt him from the F1 role.

You’d have to think the job is far more attractive now than it’s been for awhile

Yeah it's pretty shit.

Only upside is the rebuild is under way, we're already the second youngest side in the league so it's going to be hard to half arse it from here if some moron chasing quick results is appointed as his replacement
Somebody like an Andrew Thorburn would be perfect.

It's crazy how some couldn't see this and were so adamant at pushing a false narrative.
So Jay Z Clarke is an expert in what we are doing now . Good stuff :)

Your problem is comprehension. You do not seem to understand you can start a rebuild of a mid table list with the intention of the next step being able to push into finals and then take stock of that build after two years and change the plan slightly as it becomes obvious a few extra years are needed. Does not mean we did not start doing something when Scott started. It is just they worked out that the future plan they had around Cox / Pekins / Reid / Hobbs etc being part of the core group going forward had to be changed around a bit.

There is actually stuff happening in the background that you can not google as it is not in the media.

So bring out the red thumb again and keep believing that every move will be in the media somewhere and you can find it with google.

This is horrible timing at the crucial juncture of the club. He was leading the vision and now he’s gone. Things can easily go pear shaped if you bring in the wrong type of ceo
Timing is not great for sure but the fact we can not change the course too much now until the end of next year may be a saving grace. Most of the plan will be in place by time we start making final decisions for 2027 and onwards. We started something with Vozzo and Scott. Had a bit of a correction at the end of year two and we have changed our draft focus a fair bit. The foundation is in place.

Yeh I get that but you still want the ceo in the drivers seat the whole way through.
