What Albanese needs to do most is close down every single one of the hate preachers and come down with the full force of the law on any acts that even hint at anti-Semitism.....but will he? It would likely cost him some votes but what's to lose the reality is the Muslim vote is highly unlikely to ever vote for the LNP.
and upset a voter base. dream on.

What I don’t understand is the lefties on here actually dragging what’s happening in the Middle East to this discussion.

You’ve got Islamic terrorists killing Australians, that’s it. The discussion should be “****ing evil campaigners”, not “but hey, what about Israel”.

What have you been watching? It was the right who have, and are still, saying it was Albanese's stance on Palestine that caused this.

The problem is you. Isn't the issue between Judaism and Islam? What have Christians got to do with it?

I know your sky-fairy theories, which I don't disagree with, but dragging the Christians into this is a very big stretch.
Well, Islamists are kidnapping and murdering Christians in Nigeria...

But the thing is, it's all very well to say 'oh, the problem isn't just Islam extremists, there are Jewish and Christian extremists too' - there's only one of those groups that is committing large scale violence and murder.

There's no simple answer to this problem, but if you can't / won't name / acknowledge the problem you have no hope of finding an answer.

Because he’s been soft and tolerated the shit that’s led up to this. The fact they are now moving to clamp down is an admission they were. Just look at Burkes comments and condemnation for hate speech, where the **** was this beforehand?

Take your leftie hat off, just acknowledge the terrorists are the evil ****s and Labor were soft on Islamic exremists, its not that hard.

I cant recall massive marches in Australia after Oct 7 in support of Israel. Small marches were mourning the victims.

On the other side
just 2 days after
October 9, 2023 — Just two days after the attack, around 1,000 pro-Palestinian protesters marched in Sydney from Town Hall to the Sydney Opera House (which was lit in Israeli flag colors in solidarity with victims). Some chants included antisemitic slogans.
October-November 2023 — Thousands marched in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, an end to Australian support for Israel, and solidarity with Palestinians. For example, on October 21, about 15,000 attended a Sydney rally.

Firstly, Tony Burke tried to bring in hate speech legislation, but was opposed by Scott Morrison on the basis of religious freedom.

Terrorists are evil. Where have I said that they aren't? The shootings were abhorrent.

How are Labor any different to say the Abbott/Morrison governments when it comes to Islamic extremism? Did we blame Abbott for the Lindt siege?

I'll refer you to the Hamas leader's words when Albanese and his Government recognised Palestine, you honestly think this didn't embolden the protestors and Hamas supporters among them and also lead to more anti-Semitism acts taking place

Finally something we can agree with.

Are you serious?

The acts of anti-Semitism have increased markedly under the Albanese Governments watch, in fact they've flourished

The two Bondi shooters were ISIS, not Hamas.

And no, I doubt Australia recognising Palestine inspired ISIS terrorists to shoot Jewish people in Sydney.

Selective enforcement of hate speech, they get away with it. Nobody else does.

Is that correct? I believe it's still remains in the planning and drafting stage because of amendments.

When did Morrison leave parliament? Look at the majority Labor has with Green support they could easily bring it in.

Why would you blame Abbott for it?

Has the Australian government led by Albanese had a soft approach to Islamic extremists and are they now acting after the fact? A simple yes or no.

With all due respect both terrorist groups Hamas and ISIS are of the same extreme fundamentalist religious idealogy.

That's like saying apples and oranges are the same because they're both fruit. I don't know how more clearly I can say if you think Hamas and ISIS are the same then you're a simpleton.

And at the same time the left says all religions are the same.

The LNP did not want hate speech laws, as they believed it would restrict the ability of people to express a firmly held religious view. I can absolutely guarantee if Albanese and Burke tried to introduce hate speech laws to parliament say, in August, they would've been decried as free speech hating communists trying to control what people say.

Regarding Lindt - absolutely, why would you blame Abbott for a religious extremist committing a terrorist act? Because it's not his fault.

No, Albanese had not had any different approach to Islamic extremism, security etc than the government before him.
