I get the flak, I really do. He is a bit of a poser. He is a Kiwi too, but he has done his share this series so far. Needs help from his teammates. Similar to Joffra. Bloke cops it no matter what he does. He doesn't bowl fast enough. Bowled a looser first up. He took 5 for 50 in the first innings and scored 50 with the bat. They are not the problem for England. The batting lineup is. And no quality spinner.
He's like Zach Merrett.

Gun player but collects player of the series for his team like Zach collects B&F's - large part deserved, large part not much else around him.

Overthinking ruins more test careers than anything else

I think that's one of Green's problems, I've heard him talking about how he has issues with anxiety especially playing test cricket.

He's played 34 tests and he still looks nervous like he is playing his first test innings but he doesn't look like that playing for WA.

There is a big difference between playing Shield cricket in close to empty stadiums to playing test cricket in close to full stadiums.

So tomorrow the plan should be bat normally until the whole side is out, regardless of how long it takes, hopefully at least 2 sessions.

You want to give England a sniff. Let them chase 550 in 4 sessions. Will see how good bazball is then.

It's become an old boys club. Everyone knows Ben Foakes should be behind the stumps for them. Foakes, however, doesn't like golf, so is a bit of a black sheep on jollies up to Noosa.
Yep - everyone goes on about Baz and Stokes building "culture" but to me a successful culture is accepting and managing the different personalities off the field but having a goal on it.

Root and Stokes both 34 I wonder who’ll be the next gen of unfortunates to taste consistent future ashes defeats, Root might get a few more yrs in him but surely Stokes can’t shoulder both ball and bat long term

He's Mark Ramprakash. A guy who was prolific in county cricket for many years but couldn't step up. Just mentally went to pieces in an England shirt.

Enjoying watching the physical and mental destruction of these flogs.

Talked all the shit in the world leading up to this series and we've taken them out to deep water and left them there to drown.

Good riddance to Bazball.

There have been likeable England teams that have toured Australia in the past. This is not one of them. Spoilt, arrogant, hubristic, completely out of touch with reality and disrespectful to the traditions and history of this great game.

We're setting fire to their entire Test program and I'm here for it.

The more you get to know blokes like Tuffers, Vaughn, Swann, Flintoff etc, etc you realise a lot of them are ripping fellas that we just hated because they were Poms. I cant see many of those in this team

Ramps in the WIndies in 98 looked he might finally come good but it was a tease.

When Ben Stokes and Brendan McCullum gets back from their shambolic tour of Australia, waiting for them at Lord's will be the firing squad from the ECB. There is no way Stokes and McCullum will keep their positions as captain and coach respectively after the Ashes series in Australia.

Piers Morgan might have to coach

The latter, probably not. Stokes, however, will probably carry on, I reckon. 13/14 was a shambles but Cook continued as captain, as did Root after 17/18. They don't have many places to turn.

Yeah there are some guys that dominate in domestic cricket that struggle with the intense scrutiny and pressure of Test cricket.

Hardly anyone would care if Green played a couple of shit innings for WA in Shield cricket but it is front page news in Test cricket.

Let alone cricket forums like this one where everyone is bagging the shit out of him and calling for him to be dropped for Webster.

Which would you rather have - Carey with two tons in the same game or Head double ton?

I don't think Stokes is the issue, he's led them as well as he can, think it's mostly on McCullum, reckon he's gone
I think the way Stokes has batted in the past 2 Tests would indicate he's had a gutful of Bazball.
