Our two wingmen SSSSSS and RonnieRaven are now on the red carpet and they have made a big impression! Ronnie is turning heads in a statement maroon velvet suit dress, complete with train and glittery silver pumps. Not to be outdone, 6S is letting his dashing smile along with his bright red party pants and signature top hat/tie do the talking.

Our next stars have travelled a long way and interrupted their offseason trips to be here tonight. Shadow Man 's sword is the perfect answer to obtrusive journalists. Meanwhile, Tommycash looks as cool as ever with his sunnies with confidence. Grin might be all smiles in his suit and hat but underestimate him at your peril!

It isn't long to go until awards, and our skipper tony is fashionably late in his stylish muumuu. Meanwhile, Tandy had the unenviable task of escorting Muddiemoose here tonight. I'm not sure how you got that golden bow onto Moose, Tandy but I love your work!

Vegas is known for its Magic and sense of theatre . It turns out that Chipmunk and por_please_ya have surprised me with some special Harry Potter-themed outfits. Mischief Managed!

Little do they know that eth-dog and I have an even bigger surprise for them and the rest of the team though...

First to arrive are Cap , Test Tickle , JoshWoodenSpoon and Millky95 . They are all looking incredibly dapper and stylish whilst also giving off a fittingly festive vibe. You can probably make out our baby Bear (yes, the same one from that legendary guernsey) being smuggled in by Josh despite the 18+ venue restrictions. Luckily the bouncers were open to a bit of extra coin.

Why did you pick the Bears?

eth-dog: Great to be here. The platypus formation was certainly part of the reason I came over, but it was mostly having a few friends here and guys I haven't played with that I wanted to.

MWPP: It’s great to have you on board. I hear you. It’s definitely all about the journey and the friends made along the way. What are your plans for this offseason and Season 41?

eth-dog: This off season is all about the Qricket, and then S41 I hope to help the Bears bounce back up to the top.

MWPP: The only way from here is up. Your experience at a back-to-back premiership team will be invaluable this season.

Also, you scrub up well! Who dressed you tonight for your first official Mateflon Medal? And who are you sitting next to tonight?

eth-dog: I was dressed by myself but the suit is from Tommy Qilfiger.

I have no idea who I'm with but I'll be drinking all the free beer.

MWPP: Nice! Here at Vegas, we love drinks, but we also love other finer things in life including food, music, and movies:
-Does pineapple belong on pizza? And should pizza be eaten with cutlery?
-If you could pick three songs for the afterparty playlist, what would they be and why?
-What is your go-to ’90s movie?

eth-dog: It is an absolutely not for both. Pineapple on pizza is like calling Parma Parmi or Potato cakes potato scallops

Three songs? As you know I love my punk rock bands so I'll go:
-Misery Business by Paramore
-Weapon by Against the Current
-For the Plot by As December Falls

Hard to go past The Parent Trap. Great movie.

MWPP: Those were the only correct Pizza answers in my opinion - just don’t tell anyone I said that. They are great music choices too but it’s your 90s movie that is the true winner here . The Parent Trap is an all-time favourite movie of mine too!

Well, here we are again. Another season in the books, and while we were hoping to cap it off with a flag, well, let's just say we took a different route this year. We sucked so bad we couldn't even win the Wooden Spoon for Josh to add to his collection.

Even though we didn't have a great season on field, we were terrific off field averaging 18 posters a weeks, keeping our opposition engaged each and every week, so I want to say thank you and congratulate you for turning up every week even though our season was turning to hell.

Even in a tough season, there are standout performers. Players who showed up every week, give it their all, and keep us entertained in the match threads when the scoreboard wasn't cooperating. And that's what tonight is all about.

We're here to recognise the best performers across the season, both on the Qooty field and in and around the Showers. And of course, the player crowned Best and Fairest takes home the most prestigious award in the league, the Mateflon Medal.

For the uninitiated, the name comes from club legend Matera92, who has a long and decorated history of doing questionable things and somehow never getting in trouble for any of them. Nothing ever stuck. Like Teflon. But Matera. So: Mateflon. It's part tribute, partly to piss off Art, and absolutely the highest honour at the Bears.

Let me explain how our prestigious award works. Throughout the season, votes were awarded for each game by one member of the Leadership Group. Players were judged in two categories: Qooty performance, with 5-4-3-2-1 votes given to the best on-field contributors, and match thread posting, with 3-2-1 votes recognising the most engaging or entertaining contributions.

Before we get started, I want to thank the Leadership Group for their hard work voting throughout the season and helping put tonight together, the better writeup speeches are most likely done by them and not me.

So with that out of the way, grab a drink, settle in, and let's kick off the vote count for Season 40.
