While i don't love what I'm hearing from Pies supporters about him, I'll trust the new regime until they let me down. Can see him taking over Richo or Lamb in the next 12 months. Both probably won't be there much longer.

Yeah, I think Richo is the one they want to jettison.

Heard he's complete garbage but with a CEO with no footy experience and new coaching staff they kinda had to keep him for a little longer.

Spot on, except I don't think he'd still be there if his contract wasn't until end of next year.

Wish we weren't a dumping ground for AFL/bigger club failures but I guess here we are.
Yeah. We seem to end up with a number of failures who are still part of the boys club so get a gig manufactured.

Have no idea why people even talk about merit selection. The same way you talk about heaven or Utopia. Both sound nice, nobody has seen them

Utopia, the working dog comedy? Criminally under viewed, yes. But I wouldn't say nobody has seen it, even if it was on the ABC!!!

I've decided I'm a bit split on this, mostly due to the muddy waters of the title of the role. I look at it this way...

Footy side of things - No thanks. Doesn't seem to have much experience with the on field stuff or heading up coaching and/or football departments. Hopefully we're still looking to replace Richo in this space.

List management side - Incredible get in terms of IP. This is a bloke who would have had eyes across every meaningful player contract in the league. At a time where (IMO) we need to now be trying to target 22-26 year olds, that could be a huge weapon for us. Plus, at a crucial time, he would bring inside knowledge of what Tassie will be given over the next few years so could help us navigate that better.

In saying all that, let's hope he learned from his experience at Collingwood where he basically sacrificed his job because of the decisions he had to make after failing to stand up to the board.
