You’d think your captain would want to finish the Ashes on a high. It’s slightly concerning that he’s happy with one test in a summer and then needs another long rest. This worries me far more than his “wokeness” or any rubbish like that. He should be playing. He should want to.

2021/2022 the MCG was a lifeless road as well. The reason Scott Boland got a Test debut was that he was the only person in Australia that was taking wickets on Matthew Page prepared wickets.

England's pathetic capitulation to Boland in that Test saved the MCG from being another utter snoozefest.

And most of the MCG's results have come from it being a road that turns to inconsistent bounce where batsmen are just hoping they don't lose their wicket to a ball that barely reaches mid shin height.
